Taxes II

Hello

Middle of March and I already got my first stimulus package down the Canadian government, missing the provincial one. I already used up half my first taxes, it's like people smell money. Prior to using my taxes I had all this ideas of what to do with it but reality sink in and now the money is half gone....school uniforms for my oldest, pay electric bill, pay Internet, TV and phone, pay cell phones (4 of them), buy gift for pregnant sister-in law, buy present for birthday number 1 and 2, pay credit cards......

What happened to the savings I wanted to start or the 4Gb of RAM I wanted on my system?? I wanted an external hard disk, a new all in one printer with an integrated fax machine - you'll be surprised how many companies believe I have one. There was also the mention of adding a couple of ramps so I could make it easier for me to go around. Well all of those dreams? GONE!

It's true I still got the second act to follow, but the way I am going I will probably owe money at the end of this.

Well there is always next year.

You are not the mother!

Hello

Now for all of those that don't know, my family and I are big aficionados of reality TV such as The Bachelor, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Maury, Cops, Most Extreme and so on...

I would like to post about the last 3 because they portray a scary picture of the USA to my family and I. I am not trashing America; I basically grew up there every weekend enjoying it. But there are always some bad apples that give a black eye to society.

First of all Maury, what gives?? I mean if I was to be drag to a show like that I know there is a reason for it. Give me a break, I am sure that it must be acted; I'm going to go on national TV to reveal a secret that's been tormenting me for years?? Or find out that my wife is been cheating with the homosexual milkman?? Worst my kids might not be mine but from a Russian sailor that dropped into town?? Wow...And after all that we are going to work it out because we love each other....of course we are! Look finding out that my wife cheated or that the kids are not mind, it's like a "Get out of jail" card. There would be 2 options that I would have. The first one is the "I am out of here" one; I would probably take this one. The second would be "A tid for a tad" one, this could back fire.

The first one is basically, so long it's been fun but I got to go. It would a financial relief on my wallet and all rejected ladies from The Bachelor could have a home to come and play at.

The second option is the one where I tell her that forgiveness comes at a price. It means I get to sleep with any lady out there no questions or protection needed; and family members are not excluded. This is a bad choice because she can also join in the game and it would escalate till I'm humping her fishes.

So the Maury's show leads me to believe that half of Americans are having affairs but they are staying together....really?!

Cops...honestly? Kudos to all police officers, soldiers, firemen, EMS personnel out there. They do an excellent work. What about them criminals?? I love this show; it shows how criminals are so dumb when it comes to cooking a story so they avoid jail.

Every weekend my little one reminds us that Cops is about to start. When it start, we often wonder who's the first schmuck who is going to get it and for what. "It’s not my car officer" shut the beep off....of course it's not your car, you stole it! Most of them get caught with dope that they have no idea how it got into their pants; guess those are not their pants. Seriously, these people make me laugh with the lame excuses they come up with!

And to complete the triangle, Most Extreme. This show has different topics: Taking it to the streets, Women gone wild, Criminals gone bazirk etc...It's all about different videos of criminals or stupid actions from people. Most of them are from the USA but there are some international ones too.

It shows idiotic moments people get into or thief knocking off a night clerk. This always pisses me off cause the poor clerk get traumatized, beaten up or killed. When they don't grave the perpetrator the narrator always ends up with the upbeat phrase "Thanks to this video it's just a matter of time before they get caught"....Doesn't help my anger and anxiety knowing they got away. Note to the crooks, just take the money and don't use force, you will get fewer years in the dog house if you steel than if you kill.

My kids and wife are always thanking God they are in Canada and not there. I tell them that there wasn't such a bad place when I've spent my weekends there. That what we see could happen anywhere, but then I realize that the statistics speak for themselves. Murder rate in Montreal is about 100, 125 in a real bad year. But then again we are 35 million people compare to 350 million.

My conclusions on the show are:

Maury: If he does have connections with the courts to make dead beat dads pay for the upbringing of their kids then great. I believe kids are the responsibility of mother and father. As for those that cheat or confess to an affair, get a life. I believe that if you cheat once, you will do it again. So let the person be and start fresh.

Cops: What can I say about a bunch of people putting their life on the line to keep society going? Thanks you.

Most extreme: maybe I should close the TV or ignore the program because it shows my kids and wife the dark side of humanity that Americans have to deal with.

I should probably stop now, besides getting tire I get depressed when thinking about it.

Take care people

Could be better

Hello

Today I am posting an update on what is going on with my life.

I am doing ok, ok not really ok but I'm alive. I love this time of the year: nice outside, school is going to finish, going out more and tax season is upon us. Good old tax season. In general people who are married and have kids get money back; and if you're considered disable, CHA CHING!! Yeah, taxes got to love the season. I remember when I was single and I had to run around to make sure that I wouldn't pay taxes too much.

Now that I am married I got deductibles coming out off my ears. I mean deductible for exercise??? Yup!

"Daddy, I don't like Greco wrestling"

"Shut up and wrestle! I need a deductible, I meant, you're too fat"

My daughters are in the proper weight limits unlike their dad was at their age. Plus they are daddy's little girl. So I don't push them to do sports. But I can claim a ton and a half of things.

My best tax season was last year, 2008. I got a ton of money. This year I am getting less but still a nice chunk of cash. I don't do my taxes, I give them to an accountant and he works his magic and gets me the cash.

Well I hope you get some too and if you don't, hope you don't pay much.
