Hello!
You know 10 years ago our lives were changed for the worst, a sense of insecurity fell upon us and vengeance was our only hope. I've been seeing a lot of news where reporters tell stories of what happened on this day 10 years ago, I guess is one of those things that years from then you ask the question "where were you during the 9/11 era?"
In my case I can say that 10 years ago I was still walking and being part of the technical sports staff, and the early response team for Europe for a speech recognition application, I was at work already. As luck would have it, I like to read the news from different sources on the net and one of them happened to be CNN.com. I couldn't believe what was going on at our neighbors just hours from us, it was a sad occasion. I started the ball rolling in my department and when one of our receptionist came in all happy, I suddenly changed her mood from one spectrum to the other. Even though we were not Americans nor did we lived in New York, what was happening there and then was affecting us and the whole world.
I am not defending the American government but I am one who believes that if they have a beef against the government, then they should act accordingly; why should innocent people die? This goes for both sides of the equation, the difference here is that 9/11 happened at my doorstep and my sense of security had disappeared in the space of 20 minutes. I think the world lost its innocence at that specific time.
Remember, never forget!
