Hello!
Good something to you people!
First day after my operation and I think I have a couple of issues with my catheter as well as the anesthesia having possible side effects with MS. Here's the story folks...
I thought the catheter they inserted in me was going to do the same thing as my old catheter, draining the urine and leaving me dry. Not so, the new catheter drains the urine but some still comes out of my wee wee. I don't think it should be like that and just to be on the safe side I called the nurse at the urologist department, she wasn't there so I left her a message.
Now regarding the possible side effects of the anesthesia and MS. I am feeling stiff!!! Could be the weather, could be my broken heart, could be the grilled cheese I had this morning, I don't know! So at this point it's just a waiting game and see what happens tomorrow.
Now the operation yesterday... When they say "One-day operation", they mean it! My story is that I was one of the last ones to be discharged from the recovery room and it wasn't because I was doing much better. It's true, with my inability to move my legs there wasn't anything they could do. When I was brought down to the recovery room, the doctor told the nurses that when I would be able to move my legs I could go. Well that phrase change into: "you can't move your legs so you'll stay here for an hour and a half..." And yes, that's how it played! An hour and a half after they asked me if I could move my legs, I told them no but they knew I had MS so my situation was different. They prepared me to go home, gave me all the necessary advice and sent me on my way home. I am not complaining, the Jewish general has a very good staff, I was impressed compared to other hospitals I've been in. So kudos to the JGH for having a wonderful system, just be prepared that if you go for a day surgery... It's that! One day... No more!
Take care folks!
