Hello!
Okay, feeling better I guess the analgesic have taken effect.
Keeping on the visit from the nurse last night, after chatting with her while she was performing the semi-operation, she gave me the formula I've been looking for all this time: the sterile water formula!
Here's the story, throughout the usage of my catheter I had been provided with sterile water from the CLSC, no-cost right? Right! Well that was pretty nice and dandy but about a month ago they told me that they couldn't provided it anymore, why? Apparently because I belong to a special program from the government I can receive a lot of stuff free but not sterile water. Okay, so I'll buy it at the pharmacy, no skin off my nose, how much is it $1 dollar, $1.50 dollar? No, $4 dollars for 500 mL! Whoa, how many bottles do I need? Well, we're looking at about one bottle a day. Long story short, in about a month I have spent about $100 dollars worth of sterile water! This is too rich for my pockets!
Well yesterday night the nurse told me that I could make my own. This is great! So how do I go about it? I asked this because I already had mentioned this to my nurse and she advised against it saying that it was too dangerous. So I acted dumb, not really hard. Well she told me that I could boil for 20 minutes a litter of water and add add 3 teaspoons of salt. This would do the trick she told me! That's great! Or is it? This morning I get a surprise call from my mother telling me not to do it, that it seems dangerous, she was going to provide me with all the sterile water that I needed. What gives? How did she get a hold of the information? My better half! Damn woman, if I want to Macgyver sterile water I'm allowed to do it! Now I don't know what to do, I could get "free" water or create my own and live dangerously...
See you later folks!
