Carpe diem

Hello!

How are you guys doing this morning?

Well I just had my bath today and it was a quick one, I think the conversation at the end lasted longer than the actual bath. Perhaps it's because I touched a nerve with the person that gives me my bath, I told him that last night I went to my daughter's school because they were organizing a trip to China and it seems very interesting. Well, we started ranting about his daughter and ex-wife not liking traveling, the daughter just had a chance to go to New York a couple of weeks ago but she turned it down, stating that her boyfriend didn't want her to go.

Then he told the story about her daughter not wanting to go to San Francisco because her mother had never gone there. My caregiver assures me that when they were a couple he often insisted on going somewhere but she always decline for some reason or another making him upset because they had to stay home.

Then I started thinking, your boyfriend doesn't want you to go!? Your mother hasn't gone there so you are not going!? That is a stupid way of thinking things out! My wife and I already warned our daughter about such things, we told her that while she's young and has the capacity and resources to travel and get to know the world, Do It! Don't let any men dictate what you should or shouldn't do, it's your life and you are young, nothing should hold you back. As for going to places where mommy or daddy have never been, well that's hardluck for us baby, we had our moments and now it's your turn to have yours. When you get older and have a family then you will miss the days when you could have travel but you didn't. Carpe diem baby, carpe diem...

But I tell you my caregiver really doesn't like that his kids are wasting their time away by not traveling anywhere and getting to know other cultures. I wish them good luck...

See you in the funny papers!
