A new hope, kinda...

Hello!

Something good was bound to happen sooner or later and it happened today!

Around 1:15 this afternoon I called the government architect, notice how he's an architect now compared to before, and he reassured me that he mailed the documents that will allow me to get some companies to bid on the project. So I'm much more closer then ever to be able to step outside on my own; yay universe! Now I have to call my occupational therapist to let her know where we are on this, I'm pretty sure she's not going to believe me.

You know how I switched Internet company from Bell to videotron?! Well it's been three weeks and for the fuck of it I decided to go and test my speed. I hit 18/30 Mb that I'm supposed to have, so I called technical support. It's really not much of a difference, they asked that I do several tests before they send somebody. Unfortunately I cannot do this test because all the hardware seems to be out of my reach. So they requested that I do another test this evening with another computer and if the problem persists on that computer, that I should try connecting to the modem directly and not through a router... Then and only then will they take their thumbs out of their asses and see if there is a hardware problem... God I miss Bell already!

Take care homies, see you next month!

Fallen

Hello!

Well I take this time, lunch time, to write a small post because if I would do it any other time, chances are that speech recognition wouldn't work. As I told you people they are changing the Windows so debris is falling left and right. Even my bath guy had to wait for a couple of pieces to fall down before he was able to enter my place... Sorry about that, you didn't noticed it but my daughter just called me to inform me that they had the afternoon off so she was going to be visiting her friend... back to the falling debris!

So yes, right now is actually quite outside. The complete opposite of what it was prior to me having a bath and during my bath. It looks like a war zone out there with pieces of wood all over the place, there is also the pink stuff they put around Windows as to make sure the cold doesn't get in...

My wife's car is getting the winter tuneup today, oil change and installation of the winter tires. Here in Québec it's the law and everybody must have them prior to December 15 otherwise the man will ticket your ass off! I think this is a good law because it helps eliminates accidents in winter due to tire grip issues.

Well take care folks!

PS Great! Just great! the hammering has started up again....

Another fruitless Monday with Olivia

Hello!

Good day to you world!

So how's my computer? Well, it could be better! I'm writing this post on a flaky computer, speech recognition is extremely slow and I find that there's too much silence with the CPU; kinda like one fan is not doing its job. Tonight it will automatically scan for viruses and tomorrow I will check the results. I already took out so many programs and I defrag the hard disk. So how did I get this thing back to work? Well it took me all day yesterday and to be honest, I have no clue how it came back from the dead... I need a new computer people, I need a new computer.

So last week it was the patio doors, this week?! They are going to be doing the windows on the second floor! I think my wife told them that we needed a heads up when it came to my Windows since I received baths in the mornings and therefore the upgrade to new Windows would be impossible to do. Come to think of it, I will call the government guy to see where my project is at...

Well that's it people! Hopefully this "computer" will keep on going until past Christmas where I would have finished with the China trip, the daughter's birthday, the Christmas thing and the holy Kings thing in Mexico... Then I will be able to start saving for computer.

Take care folks!

Waiting for my computer

Hello!

It's called "the freaking computer sucks!!!"

Yes, the computer is giving me problems: slow, reboot sucks, black screen when rebooting... I am checking for s virus as I blog from my itouch. So I will probably be blogging from this device tomorrow....I hate computers!

Take care!

Sunglasses weirdo

Hello!

Good Saturday to you people!

Well I had a slow Saturday today, I went to the supermarket to buy some food and like always, when I go to the supermarket, I went overboard and basically spend a gazillion dollars! But that's pure BS, when I go to the market, my wife knows that I can't say no so she's always showing me this and that and having no cojones whatsoever I usually say yes, take it. So the brain tumor operation for my daughter will have to wait...

Yesterday evening my girls went to get their winter boots and -I wasn't aware of this-they got other things that they needed. Things like gloves, leather gloves, winterized hoodies and some other shit, total cost? $280 dollars! I think I should have stayed single and gay, I would have saved a lot of money!

On the toilet paper side, my oldest daughter says that Charmin is the best toilet paper out there. It is very soft and her hiney feels good... her words not mine... also, she is lately wearing sunglasses at night! She says it protects her eyes, I tell her it's just a matter of time before she runs into something when it's dark. I think tomorrow my girls are going to the amusement Park for one last time this season before the snow starts coming in.

Take care folks!

PS I think I'm going to be buying some reading glasses, I'm going blind as a bat!

winter is coming

Hello!

Well it is happening as I write, the girls went out shopping for something that puts a damper on all of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere... winter boots! Yikes! New York is getting the first snowstorm of the season of later on today, some places are expected to get 8 inches of snow. So it's just a matter of time before we get a reality check.

I was going over my order for the TV and I noticed that videotron works completely different than Bell, I will be paying much less and therefore I think there are some channels missing but I guess I will order them as I go along. So far the basic ones are covered, the movies are there, I got a couple of children channel and my documentary channels are there. Plus I will be having PVR functions on three TV sets, maybe I'm worrying too much.

Well that's it for me folks, can't wait to see those boots!

Videotron

Hello!

Good morning/good afternoon/good evening...

Sorry about that people, I been on the phone all freaking day long! Let me begin...

This morning a Bell representative came over because they were moving the cabling from my antenna to a community antenna. What does this mean? Well the landlord is taking out all the satellite dishes on the side of the building and he's putting a mega-antenna on the roof where all the satellite receivers will get the signal. I was all for it and I was waiting for the visit of the guy with anticipation. So he came, he looked and with a soothing voice he said to me: "you cannot have Bell Canada and videotron at the same time..."

Of course I can! You just have to change the satellite signal from the dish to the community antenna. He then told me it didn't work that way, he pointed to a cable connected and he said to me that all my signals came through that cable and I could only have Bell or videotron. So I had to cancel videotron. Hang on!? I just got off Bell for the Internet and the phone I don't think I want to go back. I will cancel my Bell TV, how's that? He didn't take it very nicely, he took it like a man! He thanked me for having Bell all these years and he suggested that I call them right away to cancel my account. So I did people! so I did...

As of November 8 I will be having a new TV company, with not 1 PVR, not 2 PVRs but three freaking PVRs! Plus I get 35 channels that I had before, the movie channels (this is a must!) and... drumroll... the Hispano network, which include Mexican TV, Colombian TV, Chilean TV and some other Spanish speaking shit. This is good news, the bad news is that I'm going to be without a TV signal for about 10 days. I'm going to be missing the X. factor, survivor, how I Met your mother, Whitney, Modern family a whole bunch of programs... I know, I can see them on the Internet but it's not the same.

This is the reason why today I didn't blog. So it wasn't laziness, it's just that I had to work out my TV thing, but now I'm back!

Take care folks!

Around the world in 11 years

Hello!

I was seeing the story of the guy who walked across the world, it took him 11 years he didn't get to see the birth of his first granddaughter. He went on this walk to promote peace and nonviolence for the profit of the children of the world, according to his website. He left Montréal in the year 2000 and now has finally come back home, kudos Jean Béliveau.

It seems my family will be closing down La Ronde this weekend, my youngest daughter is a crazy fanatic of the rides and this is the last weekend that the place will be open. I cannot go, I have to stay and take care of Olivia. So I take it I will be blogging some more this weekend and perhaps work on my book that I've been advancing inch by inch.

Take care folks!

It was a somber bath today

Hello!

My occupational therapist called me today she wanted me to know that she hadn't heard from the construction guy and she gave me the phone number so I could contact him directly; the brushoff! I like that! Now I will contact him in the afternoon to find out where the whole project is at.

Okay, the text above was written prior to my bath... Now I'll move on to my after bath text.

So my bath guy was in a somber mood today, reflecting on life and what is all about. It appears that the new guy that they gave him passed away of a heart attack. He was advanced in age but had no other illnesses and last Friday out of the blue, he had a heart attack. His son was able to reanimate him back but while doing so he broke a couple of ribs. Apparently this is something rather common, so the old man went to the hospital and after a while they sent him back, his heart didn't hold on and he passed away. So my guy was all "what it's life about, why do we live?..." I shared with him my almost religious belief about us and the universe, I think this cheer him up a bit but at the end he finished by saying that he shouldn't get close to his patients knowing full well that at the end they are going to die, this is why he's here.

Pissed off! I'm not dying anytime soon! I'm here because I got MS and I need help doing certain things, I am not in any terminal stage whatsoever dude! Maybe one day I will die but it will be of natural causes, then again I always said it to my wife that I will probably live into my 100 and something, burying everybody that I know today. I hope I can save the cash so I can be launched into space and become a dead astronaut...

Okay folks see you later!

The news that I can't confirm

Hello!

Greetings people of the world!

Yes the noise started already, seems they're working on putting new balconies up there...

Well, we were watching the news this morning when suddenly a major MS breakthrough note came around! I always get choked up on these things because in my head is just a matter of time before I get off of this chair, go to the CMR and tell them "thank you I don't need it anymore...". So once I was put on the chair I went on the Web to try and find this bit of news for you guys but I couldn't find it. Apparently somewhere in Canada, Edmonton I think, they discovered how to reverse MS something or other (see why I like to doublecheck this shit?!) and this will lead to new medications in the future. Well I was all excited and I started to look for it on the web when I stumble upon the same shit many years ago except that this time it was in England!! They always do the same stuff to me, a couple years ago the big hype was about the operation on the neck and how this could cure MS for good and with time people started dying, so this wasn't the cure. Now I'm trying to get the bit of news about the Canadian discovery but I haven't been able to find it not even on the website of the people who broadcast the news. Maybe I was dreaming and they will really never find a cure for MS. Baloney! I was wide awake and I heard the news, my wife and kid heard the news, I even cracked a joke about not wanting to go back to work. Just let it be known that I did saw something on the news this morning regarding reversing MS, I just haven't found the information on the web...

Take care folks!

The noisy place

Hello!

Well, it's been a noisy afternoon... It's been a noisy day!

The landlords have decided to change the Windows and the patio doors, at least that's what I thought. Noooo, and they are changing the balconies also! They started on the far side of the building but at around 11 o'clock they got to the balconies above me. What freaking noise it was taking out the old balconies, hammering, saws, yelling, Jesus Christ they were dropping things left and right. Then my bath lady came, she had to jump over several things to be able to open my balcony door. I got my bath and then when she was leaving my balcony door was blocked by the metal rails of the balconies above me. I told my bath lady to take the front door which seemed to be the only path that wasn't blocked... great, my dog is having nightmares on my bed... hang on there...

Where was I? Okay, so my bath lady went out the front door. This is something that is very very rarely done by anybody, my patio door is right there near the parking, so people usually come through there and leave through there; the only moron that goes through the front door is me, but this will change very soon... I hope.

Well the noise is starting again, I'll catch you later!

While waiting for a bath

Hello!

How are you folks?

What you give her food and my bed.... (speech rec picked up on the conversation between my wife and I)

Okay, so this morning I am blogging from the speech recognition software! Yay me! Yesterday it was a battle of the bravest, it was either going to be the stupid computer or me. It was me people! It was me... Basically, I uninstall some programs, went back to the previous patch level I had on Vista then I rebooted the freaking system; and while rebooting I said a Hail Mary, a holy father and I silently sang an alleluia. Guess what? System came back up properly! I don't know if it was my uninstalling stuff or the prayers and canticles, all I know is that it worked and this morning I'm using speech recognition again and the computer seems to be at a faster speed... Maybe Steve Jobs spirit had something to do with it.

Well this morning I was still feeling depressed about the whole Canadian thing yesterday and how easy it is to kill somebody here and still be able to post bail. So morose as I was, I decided to watch the Mexican news. Well ladies and gentlemen, it was another miracle! In the news they were reporting about politics and on how one political party is accusing the other one of voting motions while in a state of drunkenness! Funny! One senator even said that the laws had been voted with 90% alcohol and 10% hors d'oeuvre. Good old politics, I'm pretty sure that here in Canada we have some of those stories too, heck all over the world!

And what about the Optimum triple play commercial in the US? My daughter was watching the TV and suddenly she yelled: "They just gave me the finger!"

what areyou talking about? Then she told me on how it looks like we are given the finger when in actuality it is simply the shadow of a phone. Kinda like the old Diet Coke cans, some of you might not recall this but the cans logo displayed a man in a hat snorting what people claimed was cocaine. Since then the Coke cans logo has been changed.

Aaaah, the universe seems to be getting it together today!

Christmas winds

Hello!

Keyboard Chuck here because speech rec is on the fritz or it could be my headset....or several other computer related glitches. I'mk still working on finding the culprit!

My wife came early today and we started to talk about Christmas and out of the blue she told what she think the girls would want for the holiday......!!!!!........Hey if I was a kid I would like my parents to be just like us because what this woman has come up with leaves no more room for dreaming. Here I am wishing for world peace and I get sidetracked by this mega thing, I like to smoke whatever she's smoking because she's high! So time to start thinking about the fat guy in the red suit.....

Take care folks!

PS of course I'm not going to tell you what it is! It's a hush hush project....

Tuesday's stories

Hello!

How are you guys doing?

Well this post is a mixture of sad and of happy news.

Sad news because of the events that took place a couple of days ago when a drunk driver hit a pickup truck killing four teenage boys. This news is overshadowed by the decision of the court's handling of the event. Only in Canada do I see such stupidity, I mean there's no other word for it. My wife was shock when we heard the news this morning that the guy who was driving the other car was able to post bail and therefore he was free. I found it funny because I am always making fun of Mexico's laws and now she can make fun of Canada'sd laws. Was this guy rich? Was he famous? None of the above, the guy was able to scramble up $2000 dollars, that's right, and walk out the county jail. Seriously this is what justice is in this country? You kill four boys and the bail is set to $2000 dollars?! I don't understand it...

On the happy news, at least for somebody else than us, it appears that my bath lady of Tuesday has finally gotten a date for this Saturday. It's someone she met at her gym, remember that this lady is a bodybuilding person and therefore she goes to the gym quite often. So the guy is an ex-army personnel who, apparently, fell madly in love with her and now they're going out on Saturday... more power to you girl!

And that's the way the cookie crumbles today!

Whatever movie blog

Hello!

Well we did, we started our blog regarding movies that we see at home every weekend. It was painful to see my daughter typing away mainly because I use my voice and therefore I can write at speeds that usually I wouldn't be able to.

I don't know what exactly she put in there but she gave it a four out of this 10 which is much better than my note I only gave it 1 Tylenol and 2 Valiums... I didn't like the movie, maybe next week will be a better selection. But I can say to you if you have a chance give us a visit, this blog will give you an idea of what to look forward to renting for the weekend with your family.

Well that's it for me, I'll see you tomorrow folks!

The Orange report

Hello!

Well I finished my critic of the movie Paranormal Activity2, it wasn't a good one but then again neither was the movie. Once I get to critic from my daughter I will amend it to the post and let it rip, obviously I will tell you where it is so you can read it.

The orange campaign will close for us tomorrow, you know the one of my daughter selling oranges/grapefruits for some charity or other? Well at this point I was able to sell six cases of 20 pounds worth of oranges, that's a cool $120 dollars to whatever charity this is for. The books for my oldest daughter? Well I have sold one and two are remaining, I don't know what I'm gonna do with that! Then there's the trip to China, I know the weekend of November 12 and 13 she will be packaging food at the supermarket, we will then have a final meeting where they are going to tell us how much his owed for the trip. I'm thinking about $1400 dollars, but then again I was never good in maths.

I think my computer is dying, this afternoon it took me a good 45 minutes before it could start working again. The processor was taking 100%, so I began to uninstall stupid programs, disable some process/services that I didn't need and pray a lot... this always helps the technician!

Okay folks, I'll see you on the next post!

Movie weekend

Hello!

Greeting folks!

Well it was a movie weekend, we saw lots of movies, some of them recorded on my PVR and others we rented. Out of the top of my head I can name you four titles: Fast Five, Last Exorcism, Insidious, Paranormal Activity 2. The scary movie are because it's Halloween and I'd like to get into it by having my buttocks scared... well it hasn't happened yet! While seeing the last exorcism I got my account hacked by my daughter, she wrote a small post regarding that movie and at the end of the movie I proposed to her that we started a new blog her and me together, so we did! And today I will write my first post with her on that blog, it's about criticizing movies that have already been played at the movie theaters but you take them home because you haven't seen them, today we will give our opinion on Paranormal Activity 2. The name of the blog is called "Whatever movie", once she finished writing her opinion I will put everything together and post it. We will do this once a week because we're going to start renting movies once a week. It's a cool project, it will help her start blogging/writing and perhaps one day she will outdo her dad.

I just finished having my bath, I told the guy that if he didn't have anybody else (I had canceled because of my urologist appointment that never happened) then I wouldn't mind having a bath but if he had somebody else already given to him by his boss then I would wait until Thursday for my full bath. The guy gave me the bath, God bless him!

Well that's it folks, take care!

To clear things up

Hello!

Greetings folks!

Don't ever let your account unlock cause it will be hacked!!

Happened to me today Sunday morning while watching the movie Insidious. While I was trying to make sense of the movie and why in heaven's name the preacher goes back, my oldest daughter was figurine out how to blog, well she was successfull in my account!! Although what she wrote makes perfect sense to me, if she wants to start a blog she should get her own! Needless to say that I will log out everytime after I finish blogging from now on and I will start encouraging my daughter to start her own blog....and I got an idea for her and for me, it will be a family project....

Take care folks!

Aliens are our friends

Hello!

My only friend in life i ever had stopped hanging out with me because I laughed when he claimed that he had been abducted by aliens and they had performed on him countless experiments he still recalls. Poking, probing, measuring, you name it and he had those things done to him. Now when I reflect on my conversations with him, I can understand what he was talking to me about...

- "Chuck buddy, have you been abducted???!"

No V-man! It's just that with this illness, I have had my share of probing, poking, measuring and other things done to me and not by the aliens like a normal person does, but by my own kind: humans! I know that you are going to say it's for my own good, but maybe the aliens, in their language, are saying the same thing. Maybe they are not as bad as we think they are, perhaps they're just trying to help us live better lives.

So for all you alien abductees out there, if I can tolerate the urologist sticking a laser down my we-we to destroy the rocks that are in my bladder, you can definitely assume the position to let them insert a suppository to eliminate something bad.

And to my friend roaming this world: "ET come home! The doctor was doing a colonoscopy on you! It's for your own good..."

Mundane Fridays

Hello!

Good Friday folks!

Well, my morning was a busy one! Yeah, 8:30 in the morning I was having breakfast and =poop= the nurse shows up at my patio door. WTF? I know they had to change the gauze around my catheter this morning, but so early?! Well, I interrupted my breakfast so that she could change my gauze and then briefly talk about my sugar levels, my blood pressure and my visit to the urologist next Monday. She wants me to ask certain questions that she wrote down on paper, what the heck I'll give the guy the paper and see what his reaction is... If I know him well enough, he will look at the paper and motion something or other, kinda like not really caring about it because it comes from a CLSC personnel; I think he looks down on these people...

Today, later on, Bell Canada it supposed to be coming to reconnect my TVs, it seems the landlords got fed up of having many satellite dishes out there and opted for a mega-dish to connect all of the Bell's customers using the TV services. Well, in my place they have four TVs to connect, I wish that everything stays in working order as it is now, I would hate to call customer support so they can send somebody for the Bell dish.....

And that ladies and gentlemen is what I'm looking at so far...

Have a great day people!

As a matter of fact

Hello!

Well after I finished posting last note I remembered that I hadn't configured my e-mail address with the new Internet company. That's right, here I am going left and right on the Internet, blogging my head off and yet I didn't have an e-mail address with videotron. So I gave their support line a call. Now I remember the good old days when I had to configured my Outlook/Windows Mail to be able to receive my e-mail, well it seems it doesn't work that way anymore. The guy was right up front, he asked me if I wanted to configure my Windows Mail or if I wanted to configure my e-mail through the Internet. Huh? He proceeded to explain that the Internet way would allow me to check my e-mails where ever I was in the world, so when I went on a trip my e-mails would follow. Yeah, cause I really would like to check my e-mails when I'm on base camp near Mount Everest. Nevertheless I configured my e-mail through the Internet. Mind you, I really didn't need this e-mail because I have a domain name which allows me to redirect my e-mails to my current Gmail account. In other words, I did all that work for nothing.

all's well that ends well, isn't that the saving? well...I thought she had learned her lesson brother was I wrong! You know my post of this morning about my youngest one having said a white lie about her cancerous leg? Well she had to get out of it with her friends today and what road do you think she took? she took the one about being operated successfully and the big C had been completely destroyed! Yeah, she lied again! I just hope she doesn't bring me into this lie because I'm good...

Take care folks

Boring afternoon

Hello!

Had my bath, had my Meals on Wheels, all is well.

So my bath guy had his date finally, apparently the lady is a nice person and it seems that they will be going out again. He's taking it slow he claims because he still has feelings for the ex-girlfriend that left them, wuss! He said he's going to treat her like a friend for a long time prior to making a move towards a relationship, but get this, he wants sex upfront! Good old bath guy, looking out for number one...

Nothing really happening today, I was so bored I was actually dozing off there for a second but then the phone rang and it was somebody looking for a person not associated with my number. I guess I'll do some genealogy work or maybe put on an interesting program and fall asleep.

Take care folks!

The cancer lie

Hello!

Good day to you all...

You know I had to go back on my blog today to make sure I hadn't posted this yet and no, this is something that's completely new.

Yesterday in the evening I got a call from a concerned parent regarding my youngest daughter and her presence at the birthday party she's been invited on this Saturday. She wanted to make sure that she was going to be in attendance and was asking about her health. I thought it had to do with the events that happened on Tuesday where my daughter had fallen and she had to be brought back home. No, it wasn't this! She was calling to find out how was Hanah going to make it to the birthday party on Saturday seeing that she was going to be operated on Friday...??? WTF?! I wasn't aware of this I told her, she also wanted to know how was Hana's cancer on her leg doing ...!!???!!?? I wasn't aware that she had cancer either. The lady told me that my daughter had told her friend, the lady's daughter, that she had said she suffers from cancer on the leg and that she was going to be operated on Friday! I told the lady that this wasn't the case, perhaps because of the lack of French my daughter suffers from she chose cancer is a word to describe her leg "injury". I told her that she was going to be there and that my daughter was healthy as a horse.

I then started thinking about the lies that Hana's father had said throughout his childhood and how he had single-handedly killed his father in an accident, put his aunt in a coma, made his mother buy a Lear jet airplane and promised marriage to someone just to break it up afterwards because he fell in love with somebody else... I'm not proud of this people, I was a compulsive liar so the kid has somewhere to take it from... but I had a chat with her yesterday telling her that she didn't need to lie because she was going to exclude herself from relationships. I told her that if she didn't know the words in French, she should just say that she was okay and that her mother and father were taking care of her boo-boo.

Kids! They will come up with anything to get sympathy from the crowd... take care folks!

Pizza Thursday and the funds for school

Hello!

Well it's that time of the year, the time where the schools of my girls start asking for money left and right. I know, schools have a difficult times these days trying to get money for whatever project they have, but for crying out loud it's not like I make millions. Take the school of my youngest, they just send us the memo informing us that we have to sell oranges/grapefruits to help raise funds for some project or other. Yeah, I've sold 20 pounds of oranges to my mother so far and I still got to hit my youngest and oldest brother as well as my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and I will buy at least 40 pounds worth of oranges. So I expect to sell about $100 dollars worth of oranges. And that's my youngest one! My oldest one?! Holy cow, we have a trip to China to finance and they just send us three booklets that we must sell so that the school can have funds for activities during the year. The booklet consists of coupons that saves money in different stores, every booklet is $20 dollars, so there's 60 bucks more to add to the trip to China. But you know what the problem is? In general I always end up buying the booklets, the oranges, the spaghetti, the pupucaca that must be purchased... Yeah, my daughters don't like to go out and sell stuff, so mom and pop have to buy whatever they are selling...

Yesterday night was pizza night, we got a hold of the special deal of Tuesday: 2 pizzas, a 2 L coke for $20 dollars. But it's just a gimmick people, at the end of the ordering process I had to dish out $43 dollars because I ordered additional stuff: hot fudge lava cakes (two bucks a piece) and the guy was nice enough to offer french fries... Well, I'm the type of person that can't say no, so I got some. And how was my experience? Let me put it to you this way, next time I order from that place I'll be sure to include french fries again, they were super delicious people!

That's it for me, take care folks!

The insurance debate

Hello!

Just finished having my bath and it appears the bath lady is going on dates but she's quiet about it, good for her!

Well my bath was rather informative for my bath lady, she started talking to me about an accident she had yesterday and how she didn't know if she was going to declare it to the insurance company or not. She was afraid that her monthly fee would go up and she's been a customer for eight years with this company. I told her that it was funny, that I had a similar situation not so long ago and that I had jumped ship because the difference between the company I was with and the one I am with today was about $110 dollars. She asked me what was the name of the company I was with before, I told her I was with Allstate Canada and I had dumped them because the guy who used to take care of me didn't work there anymore. She was surprised and told me that the company she deals with is also Allstate Canada. She told me on how she pays $142 dollars every month, I told her that I was about to start paying $160 dollars a month, then I jumped to Bel Air direct and I am not paying $53 dollars for the same type of insurance I had with Allstate Canada. I told her that it would be best if she start shopping to get a bargain like I did, I informed her that if my insurance guy would have still work there I would have dished out that money without any questions... Believe it or not, she had the same story! I told her to jump ship, that Allstate would never match whatever price she gets at another company... Like she said, the savings I do now could pay for a trip at the end of the year, if I was single, but still $1000 dollars is $1000 dollars... to me it represents a new keyboard and mouse... nothing personal Allstate, it's just business!

Take care folks! I'm about to have some pizza for lunch... Hawaiian pizza!

She almost had her way with me

Hello!

Hope you're having a wonderful day people!

Well it happened, I am not proud but it wasn't my fault I swear. Let me explain to you my story...

Yesterday I was being put to bed when suddenly the bitch jumped me so, the man that I am, I started pushing her away and with my good leg I was able to get her off me. "Don't do that" I said, that is not good, that is not nice. But she jumped on top of me for the second time and this time I called my daughter so she could be a witness and perhaps assist me in getting rid of her. So much for my daughter, she came down and she started to laugh. WTF? "help me, don't just stand there!" I said... Between my daughter and I we were able to get her out and she left but not without having scarred me for life So to make sure that the incident doesn't happen again I have made arrangements. I now sleep very high off the ground so that she won't be able to climb back up on the bed and tries to hump my leg. Dumb dog is in heat... what's her problem? Why me? There's four of us go hump on my wife's leg or something. I tell you people, there's nothing worst than a dog in heat, I guess I'll have to have her fixed, hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Well I'm off to wait for my bath lady, I think she will be here around 11 o'clock today.

Take care folks!

PS you know going to get in trouble because the story is fairly misleading, last time I had somebody comment something bad about one of my posts because of the title I had given it. Oh well, you can please everybody...

Broken something

Hello!

Howdy folks!

I have just finished eating my Meals on Wheels and I was working on the book with V-man and I remember I had to post on my blog. So here I am, what am I going to say?

Well I can say that I was about to have one of those refreshing naps I take, you know the ones where I turn on an interesting show that bores me to death and I fall asleep for a while!?? Well I was borderline that and suddenly my phone goes off! Okay, the ring tone is the one from my wife, I guess she wants to say hello, no sweat. I pick up the handset and then the first thing that comes out of her mouth was: "has Hanah's school called you?"

No, not recently . Then she tells me that the school had called her because our daughter had fallen down and she needed to be picked up and she couldn't do it because she was all the way in Montréal, about 20-25 minutes from here, working. Okay I said to her, I will get my sister-in-law to go and pick her up, I will also contact the school to see how bad it is. So I arranged for the pickup of my girl with my sister-in-law and I called school. They couldn't tell me much except that it would be wise to pick up my daughter... holy shit! How bad is this? Well the lady I was talking to couldn't tell me because she wasn't there when it happened, so I asked to speak with my daughter. When I got my daughter on the phone she was nervous, she told me there was no blood but that she felt like if there was a crack on her leg. Okay... a broken leg! Great, no one in the history of the Guzman family has ever broken a leg, it will be a first. I mean there are attempted suicides with rat poison, strokes, natural causes but no broken anything! I guess her cousins are going to have fun signing the cast. So I waited for my sister-in-law to bring her over. When she came through the patio door she was walking on her own, but she told me that her leg hurted a lot and she asked for me to put on some Myoflex cream and to give her my leg thing that the CMR had given me.???...???... Really?! This kid fell on the floor and then decided to call home because she didn't want to go to school? Ah fuck! Well my sister-in-law told me that her daughter had done something similar, she had the school secretary call and report that she wasn't feeling so hot, so her mother came and picked her up right away. On the way to the doctor, her kid told her that she was kidding, that she only wanted to go home! So... I guess my daughter is doing the same thing, I did put the Myoflex but the leg thing wasn't going to happen because it was for the right leg and she "broke" her left...

Carpe Diem people!

PS I wish I could upload a picture of my leg thing but my oldest daughter has my phone... oh well I'll take a picture of it and upload it in some other post.

My imaginary family

Hello!

Happy Tuesday people!

I love days like today, I really had breakfast, I already had my bath, I already called the schools of my daughters to ask them for letters from the school to prove that they are really alive and well!

???

Yeah that's what I thought so too, but the government of Québec believes that we are swindling them and that mimon and Hanah are just fake names that don't exist, we are just doing it for the money. Actually, I am just doing it for the money, because they also want proof that my wife is not a concept but a real person whose alive and kicking!

It all started yesterday when my wife went to get the mail, there was an envelope from the government of Québec. She opened it and gave it to me so I could read a French document. When I told her what it was about we both laugh, but if we don't fill this out she could get fined anywhere between $250-$1500. It's a very simple document to fill but it is asking for letters from school to prove the existence of my girls and an Internet bill, electrical company bill or any house bill that carries her name. Guess what? All the freaking bills are at my name! So my wife will have to call the government and find out what other documents she could provide to prove her existence! At this point it seems she doesn't exist and that my girls are just part of my Shangri-La imagination... it's amazing what the government does to spend its time...

Take care people!

The a-hole

Hello!

Isn't it amazing that it only takes one a-hole to ruin your day?

Yes this has to do with my bath! You see the bath lady came at around 2:30 PM and I told her that there was a dog in the house but she was still a puppy and she wasn't violent. She agreed to the dog, first of all she must have been an ex-Nazi guard because when she shaved me, it was painful. I thought the guy from Thursday was the worst but he does it strong and fast, this lady however likes to prolong pain and suffering. She stroked up and down the face and she pushed that blade hard to make sure she didn't miss a whisker. Her bath method's lack muscle, I feel like I just got dampep with a towel and then dried. After about 10 minutes, tops, she said she couldn't keep on working with dog running all around, B.S.B (Bull Shit Bitch), the dog was lying right beside my wheelchair, she was just afraid of the dog. I told her that since nobody had warned me that there was going to be somebody new coming to give me a bath, I had let the dog loose because the guy who gives my bath on Mondays didn't care. If I would have been warned by somebody I would have made arrangements. I told her that if she wanted to caged the dog she would have to do it herself since I couldn't do it because of my illness. She hesitated a bit and then grew some cojones and she put the dog in the cage. What a beeping whore! I told her that the dog was only eight months old and she was rather playful, but I guess that there are some people out there that probably were bitten by a dog and therefore they are afraid of them... get a psychologist people! Dogs are very nice animals, they are cuddly and cute! It's not like I have a boa constrictor or a fucking shark in my house, I have a small puppy that likes to lick your face. Go see Dr. Phil or something maybe he can help!

For the people of the CLSC, I am leaving my dog out unless I am warned ahead of time that the person coming to give me a bath is a chicken shit, without balls (symbolical balls), and prefers to be constricted to death by a phyton.

And this is the person who fucked up my day, now I have to go with my daughter to the library and put on a happy face.

Take care yourself!

PS I need to learn how to speak Arabic or Chinese because the hallway is always full of stories that I am missing...

The bath less day

Hello!

"So Mr. Chuck, you're ready for your afternoon?"

No V-man, I am not ready for my afternoon! You see my bath guy hasn't shown up yet which can only mean one thing, the dude worked on the weekend. The CLSC personnel that gives bath work on the weekend once in a while and when this happens their weekend is given to them usually the following week. I'm okay with that, what I'm not okay with is that a lot of them do not give you a heads up! Therefore my plans of taking my daughter to the library to meet the person that helps her with her homework are in jeopardy. So come one o'clock I will call the CLSC and specify that I like to have my baths in the morning, at the present time I get them in the morning because I make arrangements with the people that give me the baths, but if they had to respect the schedule they could be here at 2:30 in the afternoon. So Chuck here is a bit upset...

Genealogy now, you know what folks? I don't know how hard it is to answer something truthful, you know just to answer point. I mean if people don't want to help me because of the lack of time, just say so. I have written e-mails to people that are still living in my country and could help me by answering my e-mail or by giving the message to the persons that could help me. No! Busy busy busy! Well if that's the case, let me know! Instead people ignored me, people believed that the wheelchair guy is obsolete and therefore if you don't responsd he will go away. Well, at this point I have gotten enough information to close the family tree. So I will no longer bug people with this and if ever the tables turned, I will gladly give them the information I have, be it erroneous or not...

Take care folks!

Monday under the clouds

Hello!

Happy week to you people!

Well it was a quiet weekend and the weather didn't help either. The coming days are going to be similar to Saturday and Sunday that just passed, it's going to be cloudy/rainy/crappy type of weather but I'm not going to be down because of this, oh no not I, I will survive! So what's new with my life?

Well today get my bath from the only attendant that has nothing happening in his life, no love crisis, no sick relative, the guy is all right. This guy had his crisis a while back, before I even met him, at this point he let all his problems behind and now enjoys life with his girlfriend. Needless to say that this relationship cost him the friendship, the respect, the love of his children. He blames this on his ex-wife who he claims turned the kids against him, but he really doesn't give a hoot about his past or he doesn't like to talk about it like my other two persons that provide me with a bath. Maybe I haven't touched the right key to make him sing, I'll have to work on that one...

On the mother's front...

My mom is doing much better now seeing that the water in her lungs is slowly disappearing, I'm sorry I'm not very medical incline here so I don't know the term for it, therefore her brain is getting more air... Don't look at me like that, this is a theory that the nurse from the CLSC advanced to her... all medical conclusions apart, she started to sound like the old mom I used to know and she starting to make amends with different folks. Kudos mom, I hope you feel better as time passes.

Okay people, time to relax before my bath, I hope you have a great day and I'll see you soon!

Sunday bleus

Hello!

Good dsy to you all!

Well my youngest is using my headset and I don't have voice recognition and I must therefore use my keyboard and type this post.

Well spaghetti Saturday was a success and the teacher sent me some chow and I like the salad and the banana bread...I haven't tried the spaghetti yet as I am not hungry but I will have some later on. The banana bread was real good and my daughter is one step closer to China....

On the daughters front, well my youngest one has made a new friend and has started going to play at her home and she's even been invited to a birthday party next week! Needless to say her sister doesn't like the whole situation, she doesn't like the friend....

Take care folks!

Saturday spaghetti and wine

Hello!

How are you folks?

Well I am on my second day of a cold, I'm sneezing, my body aches and I have a manly voice. Heck even speech recognition is working properly for me today! I wish I had this type of voice all the time, it sounds very masculine and usually my voice is rather feminine. I love having a cold!

Well my girls, their aunt and uncle and their grandmother are off to the spaghetti night that the school is throwing to raise funds for my daughter's China trip, they had to bring their own soft drink and/or wine. I had to dish out $15 dollars a ticket, but it was for a good cause since my oldest one will live an experience that she will remember for a while! Plus they get to eat spaghettis and bring me some, I think I still have some leftover wine from last weekend...

Take care folks!

Hello!

How are you people?

Well I am off the Bell grid regarding the Internet and my phone, although the guy who came and install it didn't seem to be very knowledgeable or he was hiding the secrets of videotron rather well. I wanted the IP address of the router so I could configure my network and the guy said that the same numbers I had for the old router would work... bullshit body! I tried and it didn't do the trick, so I had to call technical support to get get the address and they hesitantly gave it to me throwing in the warning about how they were not responsible if my Internet didn't work anymore...oooooo... scary... kid, I was doing networks when you were in diapers! Well I configured my router like I wanted to and now the Internet is working as I wanted to. If

I went to the CMR this morning and I got what I wanted, they measure my feet rest so that I can get new ones, I got the leg mechanism, purple color, and they ordered a new incline  device so that they can change the old one. All is well that ends well... I think I'm coming down with a severe cold, I got the craps and I think I may have a fever... So I will let you go!

Take care folks!

The fb friend

Hello!

Good day folks!

Being the married guy that I am, I have learned (with time) that there are certain rules that I must respect when it comes to the opposite sex. I'm pretty sure that most of us guys who are married or have a girlfriend use the Cesar Milan rule: no touch, not talk, no eye contact. And I'm fine with that, I basically eliminated everything that has boobs and talks, I mean this is real life, with real people, I wouldn't like my wife to mingle with the opposite sausage. So I'm okay with this rule!

But lately, this rule has become also applicable to the electronic world! Really?! But they are 0s and 1s! I will probably never meet them. A case comes to my mind that happend not so long ago, Friday the 14 of October to be exact, I got an invitation in Facebook from someone I really don't know who the beep it is or how she got my name, notice I'm claiming it's a her because my wife got her feathers ruffled. Endgame is that I accepted the invitation, so did a family member from my wife. Well, let's just say it didn't sit pretty with my wife that I had accepted this person as a friend. She started telling me how dumb I was for having accepted her, that she only had two friends so far: a relative and me! She went on about how I didn't care about security, how she still had family in Mexico and what if this person was a kidnapper and wanted to harm her. Well, I started thinking that it was my own persona and that she didn't have the right to dictate who was my e-friend and what I did in the e-world. Heck, I could be married with Megan Fox and have four children for all I care, it's electronically, it's not real! I mean, I say my name is Chuck but what if my real name is Paco? It's a free world, at least on the Internet side of it, if I want to befriend a Satan worshiper, it is my right to do so! Well that's my two cents regarding freedom of association on the Web...

Funny, that person I'm talking about has most of my wife's family members in Mexico as friends now!

The Pepsi person

Hello!

Well that did the trick!

When in trouble, reboot reboot reboot! Speech recognition is working fine now and I can tell you about my afternoon.

As I mentioned, I tried to do an acoustic language thingy but it didn't work, so I took a nap for nothing! Then when I woke up I saw that there was nine patches for Windows Vista today, so you know me... I like to keep my Vista up-to-date, so I downloaded and installed the patches. After about half an hour of installation and rebooting, I said to myself: "self, time to blog!". Well fate had other ideas and this wasn't going to be the case. So I posted what I had written down with the keyboard and rebooted the damn machine... On the meantime, there was the sound of two Arab ladies going at each other, at least that's what it sounded like. It wasn't the case, because then I heard a couple of kids join the conversation and they started laughing... so no fight people!

Ummm... something seems to be wrong with the keyboard, it seems a couple of keys are not working properly. Now people think I'm stupid or something but last weekend at the Pozole fest weekend, there was a frozen Pepsi sitting on top of my desk and it suddenly exploded. Now Pepsi got on the wall and on my desk, well the first thing I heard was "it didn't get in the keyboard...". So who do you think I blame for this problem I'm having with the keyboard? That's right, the Pepsi person!  Mind you the keyboard and mouse cost me 40 bucks, so worst-case scenario if the stupid keyboard stops working, I will buy new batteries for it and if it still doesn't work I will chalk it out and buy a new one... but I will not forget how my new and improved keyboard was destroyed by the Pepsi person!

Take care folks!

PS remember that tomorrow I am off during most of the day or until I have Internet access again.Psst, I think Montreal is joining the closing of the downtown core this weekend, but we will do it politely as not to make much waves....we're Canadians after all!

Stupid thing

Hello!

Well my afternoon didn't go according to plan. I couldn't do that Voodo stuff I did last time with the speech recognition, in fact I am typing right now while the stupid thing loads! Now it could be the speech rec thing I tried to do or it could be the patches I installed for Windows Vista or it could be my computer is old and needs to be replaced, this is the option that most tech inclined people like me would opt for, but the current "situation" prohibits the disbursement of money to other things except the essentials....trip to China, Christmass, birthdays, blah, blah, blah!...why are wives so situiation like??? So I'll sit and pray to the technology god to make this thing faster....oooohhh Arabic screaming between 2 females in the corridor............DAM! I can't speak Arabic....why couldn't it be Spanish/English/French??? Wait.....

Aaaa... voice recognition is working again, sort of... it's really slow! Nope this is too slow...I will chat you people later!

PS Tech 101: when in trouble reboot the freaking thing...I hate you happy Mac people!

Planck time

Hello!

How are you folks?

Well, had my bath and ate my Meals on Wheels! So I'm ready to blog...

My bath guy came today with his stories of everlasting love, remember I told you how he couldn't make his date last Saturday because he was looking after his kids while his ex-wife is comatose in the hospital? Well apparently the girl was tolerable enough to give him a second chance, he has a date on Sunday! So I'm pretty sure that if all goes well I should have some juicy information for you guys next Thursday.

Tomorrow! Tomorrow I have an appointment, make that two appointments, one at the CMR for my wheelchair and the other one is at home, the videotron technician is coming over to install the new Internet and my new telephone line...humm.... seems I'm catching a cold... back to the story, so my appointment at the CMR is a 10 and they have quested that I reserve two hours for them. No can do people! You see, the technician from videotron is coming anywhere between noon and 5 PM, so I have to be here for midday....... And you know how tough it is to get a cable guy to come into your home, okay, it's not that tough, I was just mimicking a movie I once saw. So tomorrow I will give the CMR an hour and a half and hopefully be here by noon...nish!

What the hell man?! Where did I get this cold?... Oh yeah... my youngest daughter seems to have something I probably got this from her. Sucks to be me people, really sucks!

Take care folks!

PS I think I'm going to do something with the voice recognition because it's crappy again... so I'll put on a destruction of the universe documentary, tilt back and catch some ZZZZzzzz

I had a meeting? Really?

Hello!

I completely forgot about my meeting this afternoon!

I was playing the game Adventure Quest when suddenly I hear my patio door open, WTF?! Am I gonna have to fight here? I backed up the chair and moved towards the patio door and it was my occupational therapists. I said hi and she asked me if I had forgotten her. Of course not, I was just killing time I said to her. So I explained to her why I want the changes on my room again, she agreed and starts to blame herself for having left the bed in a bad position before. I said she shouldn't worry about it and she starts moving the room around. Then she stopped and asked her what was wrong. She told me that she hoped the guy that had to move polls hadn't forgotten her and she proceeded to call him. She did good, the guy had completely forgot about the meeting also! So he rushed my home and he started doing his work. In a matter of minutes the room was like I wanted it to be... More space for me!

Before
Now

And that was my afternoon ladies and gentlemen! Take care!

After bath activities

Hello!

Yes, I had my bath already and I feel clean as a whistle!

Well my bath lady was more chatter box today, she was telling me about how lonely she is and how the last guy she went out with four days ago hasn't called back or texted her. Then she asked me what I did all day, I told her that I like to blog and watch some TV. I lost her at blog, she didn't know what it was and she didn't care much for technology. She said she had tried Facebook but she didn't like it and if she knew how to deactivate her account, she would do so. She told me she was the type of girl that rather go out and meet people, she didn't like electronic dating. I told her that in this day and age this was considered like a bar, where you can meet people and you might have a connection with someone. She still didn't buy it. At the end I just told her to hang in there that it was bound to get better.

When she left I started to work on my book. It's going okay, I'm tackling the Main subject right now which is where I come from and how I got here. So give me a couple of months, perhaps a year, and I will submit it to a publisher and see what they think... perhaps I can then be called an author.

Take care folks!

Change of plans

Hello!

Good something people!

Jesus Christ!... They just call me from the CMR, the wheelchair people, they changed my schedule from tomorrow to Friday at 10 AM. This means several things, my wife has to go to work because I will be here all day, she was planning to stay because of the dog now somebody has to be here on Friday... her and my daughters believed that the dog doesn't have the age to stay alone in the house, I believe she can because most of the day she spends it up there snoozing until about three o'clock in the afternoon when she knows that my youngest daughter is coming back home. The other thing, is that I have an appointment with my Internet/telephone guy coming in the afternoon... this is the big question, because I don't know if my appointment was in the afternoon or in the morning, I'll have to call the company to find out.

Oops... bath lady's here, sorry!

There goes my good name....

Hello!

Chisme caliente! (Breaking news)

Last couple of weeks I've been working on my genealogy tree and lately it has begun to bear fruit. Here's the story... I recall a conversation I had with my mother where she told me that my great-grandfather had had an affair and there was a kid born out of this. A couple of years later she denied it... WTF woman?! You cannot tell me something and then retract yourself! You know I have nothing better to do with my time!?! What I'm about to reveal to the family members who read my blog is devastating...I'm about to find out if my grandmother had a sister who was considered to be an illegitimate daughter not of my great-grandfather, but of my great-grandmother! This is a surprise for me, because she had always been painted as a "saint", a woman who had suffered under my great-grandfather's domination. I already have the basic facts on how this person who was told to be my grandmother's aunt was actually my grandmother's oldest sister!!! I have always been told that there was five brothers and sisters that were born from my great-grandmother, two of them had died young, there was only three left and I had met all of them. I also remember going to the house of the lady who was, what I was told back then, the great aunt of my mother... Well this wasn't the case, it was her aunt, her illegitimate aunt! Now I will just get the information from my sources back in my country and I could finally put to rest this investigation... I wish I could say the same for the date of birth of my mother. Yes, yes, yes! I have asked my mother several times when was she born and so far the year of birth of my mother ranges from 1938 to 1943.

The 1938 date is one that has been told to us throughout our life, when we left our country the papers that she took out to get her passport were erroneous, so this wasn't her date of birth. I have also been told 1942 and recently the date 1943 has popped up. This last date cannot be because my mother claimed to have been about a year old when her father past away; her father died in 1942, it says so in his tombstone (I got a pic of it) ! Now the date that I believe she was born is 1939 for the only reason that her cousin (very close cousin) was born in 1937 and my mother claims to be two years younger than her. It doesn't matter when she was born, I still love her very much but I wish she would be upfront with me knowing that I really like to have precise dates when it comes to genealogy... I feel like what my oldest brother like to think of himself when it comes to being a lawyer, he likes to think that he's pulling the thread of nice shirt until he makes a whole on it, well I like to think that I poking holes by pulling a tread on my family shirt...

Take care folks!

PS I will not tell this findings to her, I love her too much to brake her heart....

Robin Hood Chuck

Hello!

Well this neighborhood is going to the dogs!

As I mentioned this weekend I went hunting for Halloween costumes, getting there was half the fun. As I'm strolling down the avenue I see a small posse of wheelchair people. Yeah! Five or six chairs with people that seem to be worse off than me enjoying the day. WTF? Why am I so miserable? Well the answer came to me right away, these people seem to have been in the chair since they were born, I fell on it about 3 to 4 years ago, so I know what it's like to be a normal person, with normal dreams and aspirations, I know what it is to do the chicken dance! So I take it that with time, if they don't find a cure, I too will come to accept my destiny and enjoy the sun.

Then coming back, I decided to go to the pharmacy. It was an okay experience, I had to buy some deodorant and some body spray, but the fun part was when I was coming out of the pharmacy. The stupid alarm went off, guilty! It was the wheelchair robber, me! It appears that as I am going through the alleys something got stuck on my chair, so when I was going out it set off the alarms and I immediately stopped. Three persons came to me and asked me for my bag, I gave it to them but a smart one saw the problem with my chair, a small package got stuck to the wheelchair. So he took it off and made me go through the door again, no problems! So I'm pretty sure my face is now plastered on the cashiers registers so they can keep an eye out for me and my stealthy chair...

Take care people!

Thanksgiving weekend

Hello!

Goood Monday to you people!

Hello folks, I hope that all you Canadian girls and guys had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I had my pozole fest accompanied by a few shots of tequila and a scrumptious cheesecake! Today I started my countdown toward Christmas, yes it is right there and I gotta start saving for the presents of my girls, I have no clue what they're going to ask this year.

I just had my bath, my bath lady called me early in the morning and said that she was going to be coming in early and she did. And no, today I have no stories about her love life, my wife was here so she was quite quiet today about her things. Although she was sharply dressed and was wearing just a tad much perfume today, I got a feeling she was going to go and see someone today, I wish her luck.

So this weekend was also a Halloween costume weekend. My youngest one was bugging to go and see the costumes for her Halloween party at school and so we did. I always love this holiday, ever since I used to dress up at work and was successful at winning prizes, I like to go and see the Halloween store to buy anything in this year wasn't an exception. I went, I tried on a few wigs, a few masks and I came back with a wig and a half mask, what do you want? A half mask was the only thing I could afford! I mainly did it because my dog, I wanted her to start barking at me, it didn't work. She was actually trying to bite the mask off me and then she had it against the hairpiece because I was using it like a small animal and she seems to be really jealous.

And that's about sums it up for me. I wish you all a great week, at least for the Canadian ones that just started their week, and for the rest of you enjoy the rest of it.

Take care folks!

My Thanksgiving

Hello!

Well thanksgiving came and left and the verdict is I hate like a pig and drank tequila like there's no tomorrow....well 4 shooters and 1 orange flavor tequila. My mother-in-law and my wife really made a banquet plus little J' parents brought home made pumpkin pie that was awesome. It was a wonderful day with food, family, movies and a hockey game on TV! at the end of the get together little J was choking on a "tostada", Toasted tortilla, but his mom and dad were there so all ended well. It was a beautiful day, good company, now on to Christmas and New Year....

Take care!

New toys

Hello!

I am using my new keyboard and mouse people!!!!! So, short post! I just wanted to share this with you, I can type all the letters "abcdefghijklmnop....123456...I got a girl in San Francisco...." Yup all the freaking letters and numbers work fine!!! Yes I'm still on my PC, I'm still up seeing my wife and her mother prepare the feast for tomorrow! Okay, now they are watching the movie about the chick that got her arm bitten off by a shark but kept on surfing....heck I got MS and I'm still surfing...the web! Okay..arms are tired, time to zombie a bit.

Take care people!

Pozole party tomorrow

Hello!

It is on...

So I went to buy some Myoflex (muscle cream) and an ankle band for my wife... and... the Pozelo fest is this still on for tomorrow. My mother-in-law has come and helped and everything is going according to plan. Also today, finally, after X number of months that I've been saying I'm going to buy a keyboard and a new mouse I finally do so! And not just any mouse or keyboard, cordless crap! Yeah, I'm going to connect then today and with the help of my daughter by the end of the day I should be able to use the letter K, D, J, M, and a whole bunch of other letters and numbers that were not working... and the mouse? Well it was a package deal! If you bought the keyboard it came with the mouse... and this is brand-name, the model is an EX-100. I hope they work well. And the day today? It was awesome! Beautiful, beautiful day! Tomorrow it's supposed to be sunny again but temperatures are going to be a bit more higher, no good for MS people!

Well you been briefed! I hope you have a wonderful day and a lovely Sunday!

Oh yeah... happy Thanksgiving Canada!

volleyball isn't for everybody

Hello!

Good day to you all!

Hey, shit happens!

Well my wife went and played volleyball last night, when she came back it was disastrous! She took a bad tumble and her ankle/leg took a hit, at this point she went to the doctor and perhaps get an x-ray to see if she has something fractured or if it's a muscle thing. Needless to say that tomorrow's Pozole fest is probably going to be downgraded/eliminated because the only person that can do things around the house is her, and she's really not up to that right now. Worst-case scenario her mother and sister will step up to the plate, cook the Pozole, prepare everything so that we may have a small get-together. But at this point it's a wait-and-see situation...

And with that said, hang on the phone is ringing...

Well I love this country, or at least his province. My wife just called me to let me know that the walk-in clinic is no longer taking patients at this hour, that if she wants she can go to there tomorrow early in the morning and they will attend her. I love socialism...

Take care folks!

Top employers of Canada

Hello!

Well here's my blog of the afternoon and I'm real happy to report this to you guys...

After a nap I started to check my Facebook and right there in front of me =POW=... hits me like a sack of potatoes on my face!! The 100 best employers in Canada! And guess what? The company I worked for it's mentioned, I shouldn't say worked for, after all I'm still employed by them. Yeah, it's weird, every time they asked me "are you employed?" I basically tell them the story.

- "I'm  in long-term disability but I'm still employed by Nuance Communications"

And it's true! When I was sent to LTD I was told by the human resources personnel at the time that even though I was going to be receiving this, I was still an employee of Nuance Communications. Okay, I'll fly with that. To this day, come tax time, I still get a T something or other. This is the proof you get you're doing something with your life and the government can tax you or give you money back, in my case is neither of as I don't get anything in return but I don't have to pay anything either.

The question, do they deserve to be in that list of the top 100 employers in Canada? The answer is yes, when I was there it used to be fun! Heck when I started working there it was fun and it has always been like that. I mean yes I did have my ups and downs but in general the people there were really cool, starting from the head honcho all the way to me. So I am happy that they are there, not many companies tolerate fat little guys with dress-up problems... And encourages them with $150 dollars. Kudos Nuance Communication, you deserve to be mentioned as a top employer...

Take care people have a good weekend!

PS you have to select number seven to see the name of the company I still work for... I'm a senior blogger at this place!

Hello!

Okay...

So this morning I did my exercise, took my vitamin D (Sun bath), called my urologist, fixed an appointment for my occupational therapist next week, I think my days is done. So nothing more to say except talk about my croissant's night yesterday evening...

Remember I said I was going to make some croissants with my daughters? Well it started off in a bad note, neither my oldest nor my youngest one wanted to help me make the freaking things. Well, I got royally pissed and I told them both to go to hell and I didn't want to know anything about them anymore. Cue the wife in... first thing she asked as she walked in was if they had helped me done the croissants. Gulp! Yeah dumb kids, this is why I wanted to do the croissants for, you and your mother! So after laying on the guilt trip, we started making the croissants. We first tested the cheeses, the jalapenos and as an added idea from my wife we made some with Nutella (chocolate spreading)... the cheese ones sucked, the jalapeno ones and cheese were good... the Nutella ones? Boy were they good!! So much so that we decided to make the rest of them with Nutella so that we may have some at night with coffee... let me just say that today later on I will go and purchase more croissant dough and perhaps some more Nutella, who knows maybe this Thanksgiving Pozole fest will also have Nutella croissants as dessert... Oh yeah, let's not forget the tequila!

Take care folks!

PS I told you my keyboard was on the fritz, my previous post titled was "where is my keys synrome", I had typed the word syndrome with my keyboard does missing the letter "d".

Where's my keys syndrome

Hello!

Good Friday people!

So it was one of those mornings again where there's a rat race and I'm not taking part of it... except perhaps in my head.

This morning everything was fine until was time to go and drop my oldest daughter to school. Like most days, it happened again: "where's my keys?". So my daughter starts school at at 9:05 and it's 9 AM. Today was one of those days where my wife couldn't find where she had left her keys, and it was bad because she actually asked for help from my daughter. Now my daughter is not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to looking for stuff, she couldn't find a $100 dollars in my wallet if her life depended on it. So it was another 4 minutes before my wife found the keys in the place she had asked my daughter where to look. It's always like this, the keys are always lost and they can never find them until the last second... even though in my head I'm always going about how she should leave them in one single spot like that she knows where they are. Today I even thought about getting her a key holder, you know the things you place on the walls so you can put your keys there? But I think I already did that once and the key holder went missing or was never put up, so xnay on the key holder... And just as I'm writing my post guess who comes back because they forgot something? Correcto, my wife! She forgot her trustworthy crocs... For those who don't know what crocs are, they are basically very comfortable shoes, sandals, footwear, that a company here in Québec has developed and they are extremely light... Well, my wife forgot her crocs and she came back for them. I remember when I used to work, I always put everything in specific places so that in the morning everything was ready for me and I just had to take a shower, have some breakfast and walk out the door. Then again, I think I suffer from OCD and Mr. perfect syndrome and therefore I am always right and the rest of the world isn't...

Take care folks!

PS when my wife came back she asked me what I was going to do, I told her I was about to blog... She said she didn't know where I got all my ideas from, I told her that if she had time on her hands she could write about a fly farting... I wasn't going to tell her it was about her or my daughters, that suicidal!

Croissants anyone?

Hello!

Well this evening I'll be making croissants with my daughters. No, I'm not a freaking pastry chef, I am doing it the American way: Pillsbury doughboy! What I'm going to be doing different is that I will be putting cheese and ham or jalapeno peppers in them. It's going to be good you all!

Apparently we're going to have one heckuva of a weekend people. Saturday they are predicting sunny with temperatures hovering at around 22°C. I think I'm going to ask help from my brothers to come and take down the A/C since my wife alone cannot do it, it's a pretty freaking heavy machine. So how's my book going? Well let's just say that I did page one yesterday and that today... cough... I didn't have time. I told you I was a Guzman, didn't I?

Well that being said, I will definitely buy a mouse and a keyboard this weekend. So far the letter J, K, D, number 5, letter M and I think I'm missing some, are not working. So when I have to type something because the stupid speech recognition is not working properly, I pray that the letter will work that time. The mouse, I don't know yet, maybe I just by a mousepad and this will do the trick because I really don't know if my mouse is working properly, if it's me and my clumsy fingers or I'm just missing a mousepad.

I think that's it for me today... take care people!

PS the nurse wants me to contact my urologist because the urine is getting dark again... I hate this.

Creep

Hello!

Sigh.... just got off the phone with my old doctor/friend who also happens to suffer from MS but he is at a stage that appears to be worse than mine. He was telling me how he just came back from the hospital after they treated him for respiratory issues. Apparently his MS was partly to blame, he was there for 15 days. That sucks! I don't like hearing that he is getting worst because it's like I'm seeing myself on a mirror, eventually this is where I'm heading to and he is about 12 years older than I am, I don't like seeing my future, not if it's like that. Compared to him, I am Superman. Here I am doing exercises with my hands, having a strong voice and still fighting every day to be as independent as I can and yet I know the endgame, I know how this illness works and it will just give me a false sense of reprisal when I know full well that I will eventually become weak and fade away... fuck this sucks!

I wish I had something better to post, something happy, but I don't. At least not after a telephone call like that one where you are informed, in a very subtle way, that you are a very lucky person to still have some strength left in you.

And I thought it was going to be a great weekend...

Mexican Thanksgiving this weekend

Hello!

Good something to you!

Yes I know I am extremely late but my bath guy came until 11:30 and I was in bed all that time without my trusty iPod touch and therefore I was incommunicado. But now I have been given a bath and I already had my Meals on Wheels and therefore I am ready to blog.

Let's get my bath guy stories out of my away first...

Well, I guess you can call it luck or maybe it's destiny who knows! My bath guy was supposed to have an appointment on Saturday with his mystery date unfortunately that is not gonna happen because, apparently, his ex-wife fell into a depression so bad that she had to be hospitalized. "So what?" you say? Well he will be taking care of his kids during all this time. And here I was thinking the universe didn't like me that much, until I heard about his ex-wife. Here's a lady that had two bouts with cancer this year and now her mental health is taking a beating too! Well my bath guy stepped up to the plate and told his ex-sister-in-laws that he could take the kids while she got better, the ex-sister-in-laws told him that they would take care of the kids during the weekend so he can have some time off. So my guy canceled with his mystery date but he reassured me that he was going to still try and meet with her for a couple of hours this Saturday. And that's his story so far...

Hey!?! It's going to be Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend and Sunday we are probably going to have a get-together with my wife's family. Obviously it is not going to be the normal turkey dinner, I think they are aiming for something called "Pozole" and some tortillas toasted with chicken on top, they have a name too but I forgot what it is AND, and this is a big one, I still have some tequila left over from Vegas; so you bet your sweet ass I will be drinking some shooters this weekend to try to forget her...although it's hard...

Take care folks!

One step away...

Hello!

Well well well... the ball is rolling!

So Mr. Carlos Guzman here, author of the best book ever, got his thumb out of his ass and decided to start working on that Pulitzer Prize book of his. Yeah, I got fed up of thinking about it and I'm finally working on it. Not to mention that reading blogs of people who jumped from blogging to publishing got to me. Yes yesterday I was reading this blog about somebody that had finally sent a draft copy to different editors who had liked the idea, I didn't read if he was published or not but just the thought of somebody doing something with their life sparked my ambitions. Let's just see how long it will last, sadly I'm a Guzman and we tend to start something but get "distracted" in the middle and just drop the project. Then again, I have all the time in the world for this and I have been told by many people that I write good... let's just hope they weren't lying!

Something new is finally happening here in the region, Montréal is finally getting a new bridge! Yes, after our crumbling infrastructure has finally been accepted by our politicians, and I think this was a promise by the current government, there is a bridge going to happen in our neck of the woods! No more being afraid about the Champlain Bridge, Jack Cartier Bridge, Mercier Bridge, collapsing while driving on them! Now if we could plug those tunnels and dig some new ones Montréal would be modernize into the 21st century.

That's my Wednesday... take care folks!
