La zarzamora

Hello!

First cousins marriages...oh yeah...
Hey!!! Those stories about us (my family) having gipsy blood aren’t probably old wives tales after all! Since I got time, my family tree has taken giants leaps since I started looking into it… A year has gone bye and a lot of stories have been dismissed, others have been confirmed and lots of them have been correctly placed into a historical time line…and now the gipsy thing is clearing up!

I was looking left and right, consulting genealogy documents, digging deep into places that very few of us venture into… when suddenly, there it was; A lead! OMG!! My Big Fat American Gipsy Wedding came streaming with information that has launched my investigation into the gipsy world!! No I’m not plugging the show here, let me explain what I found out and then you will also say: “things that make you go hmmm…”

Season finally last night and there was a scene where a brother goes to the grave of her sister; and as tradition has it, like all Romanichal gipsies, families are buried together (according to the narrator of the show)….. WTF?? My 2nd great-grandmother, her brother,  my great-grandmother and her sister (the daughters of my 2nd great-grandmother) are all buried together!!! This is a wow factor that I don’t know how I’m going to prove or disprove it… I don’t think there is a database with gipsy people… All I know is that I started snooping around with my contacts; who knows my clan and I could literally start “My big fat family story”…because they’re all fat and stuff… now the zarzamora song makes sense...

…….Olé…

Take care folks!

PS Spanish/Jewish/German/Gipsy...oh yeah, I'm pretty fcked up!
