Souvlaki Saturday

Hello!

Well this is going to be my last post of the month and it was a very "successful" month. I know, I know , I'm not making money out of this so why do I care? Well I still like to compete against myself, I don't think I'll ever top what I did this month and once again I must thank you all for reading my gibberish life. Thank you!

So we had a beautiful day here in Brossard, kids were playing outside I went out for a stroll and came back with a souvlaki and onion rings, uummmm was it ever good! I haven't had one of these in a while, plus it was a chicken souvlaki with beer battered onion rings. I had a good day!

I sure hope my girls don't miss their flight back from the boondocks, they would have to stay overnight and take the next flight tomorrow. Oh, I didn't tell you this? Well to get to little J.'s house they drive 45 minutes to a local airport where they take a bush pilot and they must tell him the coordinates of where he's going to land. The flight is about two hours and a half, then they have to take a 4x4 all the way to little J.'s house about an hour away. Yeah, they live that far. Let's just hope the thunderstorm that are moving their way won't delay the flight.

Okay people have a great Saturday night/Sunday morning!

Alone again in the universe

Hello!

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Can you see that? Yup, that's a smile on my face! Weather is fine and dandy not too hot and not too cold, got a soccer game on the tube going on in about half an hour and I'm flying solo today. My girls and my dog have gone out to visit little J. today, it's his "birthday party", he's one-year-old what can you do at a party at that age?! So everyone is off! No interruptions by the barking of the dog, no daddy this or daddy that, no one looking me with the bad eye today, it's just me, my computer and my TV. I love moments like this, although I don't want them to happen too often, after all I do love my girls.

So yeah, my wife took it upon herself to drive the girls and her mother and the dog all the way to little J.'s parents house, yup all the way to the far edges of the province, where dirt roads still rule and the sheriff is probably your brother who was once married with you until the law was changed. You know, where everyone has a beat up car in front of their yard and the smell of outhouses linger for miles?! I love little J. but when the first thing you see is a bear patrol station I draw the line there when it comes to visits, I wouldn't like to meet one of these animals without a tranquilizer gun. Any hoot, I sent him and gift that will be useful to him, a can of pepper spray he can use against any bear.

Hope you are having a good weekend!

Link to my past

Hello!

I've been working on my genealogy tree all afternoon and I was able to find my grandfather's registration at the place where he was born. What a big difference between his family and the family of my mother, my father side came from a very humble, actually poor side, while my mother's family came from an opulent side of society. How the hell did they get together, I will never understand. So my grandfather's registration is very basic, it's just his name type in the document via a typewriter. It doesn't say the month or who the godfathers and the judge were, extremely basic just his name, Luis Guzman. I haven't found the registration of my grandmother yet but I did find the one of her brother, it is written in ink via calligraphy style, and if you were somebody from Spain or something, the registration would be a long text explaining that you were not an indigenous person, nor were you a mixture of Spanish/indigenous (ladiño/a), but you were the "real thing" a Spaniard born in El Salvador.

So at this point I am looking for the following persons below, under their pictures you will find more information of who they were. I am doing this in case somebody, somewhere, by pure luck, would know something of them.

Valentin Perez Medrano, died November 22 1921.
Buried in Ahuachapan, El Salvador.

Candita Gonzalez, wife of Valentin, died January 8 1915.
Buried in Ahuachapan, El Salvador.

Pablo Aviles, born 29/09/1871 in Sensuntepeque, Cabanas, El Salvador.
Died 17/03/1920 buried in Chalatenango, Cabanas, El Salvador.

Amparo Medrano, born 18/12/1899 in either Spain or  Ahuachapan, El Salvador.
Died 4th of January 1986 in Guatemala (?).

Pablo De Jesus Aviles, born  25/04/1905 in Ilobasco, Cabañas, El Salvador.
Died 10/10/1943 and he is buried in  Ahuachapan, El Salvador. He is the husband of
Amparo Medrano.

Luis Alonso Guzman, born 25/07 /1904 in  el Paisnal, El Salvador.

Rosalia Carbajal wife of Luis Guzman, nothing is known fromher
except that she died while my father was still a child.

This my past that I am working on, hope you can help.

Have a great weekend people!

Life in the fast Lane

Hello!

Well the wedding has been recorded and almost every channel that I had on my satellite box were showing it! So now what we do? I mean the preparations are over, the wedding has happened, there's nothing left! Oh wait, perhaps we can get them to sign a deal for the honeymoon!!? That'll be a great idea, we would have something to look forward to. It wasn't enough that all my channels were being hijacked for the royal wedding, my Mexican TV on the Internet is not working and I'm pretty sure it has to do with the royal wedding. Now I'm royally pissed off!

My dog got her first vaccine yesterday, boy did hurt $150 dollars, and now she has to go back next month so that they can give her either pills or an injection for heart warms and other yucky stuff. Each visit is at least 80 bucks, universal healthcare hasn't come to the animal world yet, so daddy has to dish out the cash! What can you do? If you want kids or a pet it's gonna cost you, but at the end you love them both!

Well another weekend is upon us, it's the last one of April we are almost at half the year, already!! Boy does time fly when you're having fun, soon I'm going to be seeing that white stuff again!

Oh well, hope to see you soon!

I almost went nuts with the wedding thing

Hello!

Well what a crappy day it's been so far, raining, raining, raining! Basically it gave me a lot of time to meditate and after my bath I put that meditation into practice.

Seems I'm getting into this whole wedding thing of Kate and William, so I meditated this morning just before my bath and came to the conclusion that WTF I to deserve a memorabilia to commemorate the wedding, not to mention to make the royal couple richer! So off I went shopping! I went to an official place, Goviers, so that I would get officials stuff but then I saw the official prices, 35 pounds for a coffee cup!? No, I don't think I can afford the official stuff, so I went for the cheap memorabilia, couldn't find it! Every site that I went was in the UK and their prices were in pounds so basically I had to do maths 10 pounds x 1.6= a shit load of money from my pocket that would only benefit the Royals and I don't think they need the money. No offense Kate and William, it's either a coffee mug with your faces on it or milk for a whole month, I choose the obvious. Plus my wife would have killed me $90 dollars for a cup and I couldn't pay for her hair saloon???!!

35 freaking pounds!!

My bath guy is doing better today, at least that's what he tells me. If you remember last week he broked down and cried over the imminent physical separation of him and his loved one. Well it seems that this week he's doing better, his girlfriend found a place for herself in an adjacent village taking with her the furniture and some other stuff. Basically he left my bath guy with a washer and dryer, he had to change the phone line because it was at her name as well as cancel other services that he couldn't afford alone. But I think that at the end he realized that he would be able to get some more often! Somebody must have knocked some sense into him and made him realized that he was a free man again.......I meant single....luv you honey....

Happy trails people!

Stories of a Thursday

Hello!

Another beautiful day, raining, is upon us!

Just T-1 and counting, at this point I got to make sure that I have enough space on my PVR to record the wedding at 3 o'clock in the morning because I'm not getting up to troubleshoot the stupid thing, the PVR I meant. I wonder what William is doing right now, if I was him I would be getting cold feet, the girl looks like she can kick some ass! I mean promising not to obey?!? Really?! You go girl!!

My dog is going to the vet today and I will call later on to register her for an obedience class, if you want my opinion I don't think she needs it, I think my daughters and my wife need them! The dog is acting like a normal three month old puppy, she likes to play, she likes to bite things and persons, obviously when my girls are getting bitten by the dog they don't like it and they starts screaming like little princesses. My wife on the other hand is more like "don't fuck with me dog!!". So I want to give her all the chances and send her to an obedience school, obviously my three girls will have to go to, this is what they told me at the school, I am not sending them.

Well have a nice one people because here in my neck of the woods we don't!

Finito

Hello!

Well my dog is asleep so I can use my voice recognition to do a post.

We have taking a new strategy when it comes to the dog, since my wife's customers are around here she always comes at around one o'clock to take the dog out. This way the dog lasts longer inside the cage, but hopefully this is not going to be a long-term solution since sooner or later the dog will no longer need the cage. Tomorrow my dog is going to get her shots then we most likely have to sign her up for training classes.

I'm trying to see how the heck I'm going to watch the soccer game today between Real Madrid and Barcelona, it's another one of those games from the champions league and one of these teams will most likely meet Manchester United for the final, I really hope is Real Madrid because my brother is a pro Manchester United fan but the husband of my cousin is a hard-core Real Madrid fan. It will be interesting if these two teams meet for the cup.

Whoa, the weather has turned sour, the sun had come out for a second or two but now it's all cloudy and it looks like it's going to pour a heck of a lot.

Will take care people I'll see you tomorrow!

My daughter, a prince and my dog

Hello!

Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Well we had a talk with my daughter yesterday regarding her grades, we played the good cop/bad cop roles, I was the good cop like always and basically I told her that I was going to get help for her maths courses because she had gone down from a high 70s (B-B+) to a mediocre 63 (C borderline D)! So I told her I was going to get someone to help her so she could finish her year on a high note. Then came the bad cop routine from my wife, basically every punishment invented by man was thrown my daughter's way, no iPod for a week! I know, how the hell is she going to survive right? Believe me she brought this up but we use the old "...in my days with didn't have iPods..." routine and she understood us. So the dice have been rolled and we hope she does better on her last term.

My dog! Well now this house is fully accessible to her since yesterday I ordered from the restaurant some chicken and ribs and the delivery guy made the mistake of putting the food on the stairs. My dog was up the stairs and she didn't think twice about coming down and smelling the food, so my dog can now go up the stairs and down the stairs at will, making the upper floor available to her. Now the only thing missing is her jumping on the beds and the sofa, I really don't mind I always liked dogs to be on my bed or on the sofa. I will probably also be getting her a training course so that she learns basic commands, sit, stay, kill, you know the essentials. Now the hard thing is going to be teaching her how to stay on her own, last time we tried that he cried like a little baby and the neighbors are not alike that.

We are at T-2 for the wedding of Kate and William, I just hope that my PVR records everything
properly so that my daughters and my wife enjoy the event. Yeah, my daughters have jumped on the bandwagon and they are eager to see a prince married a persons from the street, okay she wasn't from the street but they're making her look like that to sell the story.

Have a good day folks!

A day in the life of a guy with MS

Hello!

Boy what a painful morning it was after I put my first post and had a bath, I had to call Bell, they made a mistake on my Internet invoice. These guys were charging me for a modem that I don't have and they were charging me for the optical connection I cannot get! The technician from their company left me a paper stating so, so I called them up and went to their financial department where there was a lady who didn't understand what I was talking about. She kept on babbling that I had order the optical service, I told her many times that she was right but that the technician from their company had said that he couldn't make it work properly and therefore I couldn't have that service. To make a long story short, after much talking and a whole bunch of background information given to her she agreed to credit my bill. Thank God I kept a copy of the paper given to me by the technician and I just made a backup on my external drive to make sure that I have it in case I need it.

Then my brother came to feed me and we started debating about the Manchester United game they are playing today, he's a hard-core fan of this team and today there is an encounter in The Champions quarterfinals, I think. I'm going to see the game today because it's being shown on a channel I can get and not that Setanta channel. I also had to give him a couple of chocolate eggs for my nephew and niece. But his visit doesn't end there, when he left I don't know what he did but he was able to lock the patio door from the outside!? What does this mean for me? I have to get it fixed because otherwise my youngest daughter won't be able to come in through any door until my oldest daughter gets here! I cannot open the front door and the patio door is the only one where anybody can come in and out because I can lock and unlock it, so I gave him a call and he should be coming here any second now to unlock the door.

And the cherry on top? Well I got the grades for my oldest daughter, they aren't looking pretty. It seems she has gone down in a lot of classes, French, math, arts and craft (Really??!), I'm going to have a talk with her and I'm pretty sure my wife is going to take away something or other, pity she just got her iPod back today. I guess she has to give it back again, let's see for how long...

Take care people!

PS All is well, the patio door is fixed!

Bathing Olivia while Kate and William get married

Hello!

Good something to you wherever you are!

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later, it was just a matter of time before the event took place. I'm talking about the first bat of Olivia! This morning she went out with my wife and she put her on the grass, smart move it's only been raining for eight hours or so, so Olivia started running around and she dug a hole so big a two-month baby could have fitted in there! Needless to say that when Olivia came in she was no longer black and white but rather black-ish. So before my oldest daughter went to school they both went up with the dog, the shampoo and a whole bunch of towels to give Olivia her first bath. She liked it!

The next couple of days are going to be crappy, they are announcing rain until Saturday, so I will be blogging quite a lot. I also heard that for the wedding of Kate and William they are announcing rain in their country, good for them, I heard that for weddings rain signifies good luck or plentiful blessings, I believe this. When my oldest brother got married there was a huge rainstorm and my brother and his wife have been very lucky throughout their life. I wish Kate and William all the best and may they have a very happy life, unlike his mother.

Take care folks!

A second from my life

Hello!

Today I went to Zellers and went dog crazy! I bought all sorts of stuff for the dog, fancy foods, dog toys, a new collar, oh yeah and a couple sandals for myself. The dog has grown on all of us, she's very cute, very sweet and she's super smart! She already knows a couple of tricks that have impressed my older brother, cat man himself, and to be frank we never had a dog that could do tricks like this before. All of this is a plus for my oldest daughter and wife, they have had the patience to teach the dog these tricks.

On another note, I know I have been putting some lame post lately to make the popularity of my blog grow. I apologize, I was just expanding my horizons to get people interested on this site. I promise I will start writing more often but please keep in mind that with summer the beautiful weather comes and I will be going outside more often, so don't get offended if you don't see anything from me or if you see a fast post.

Take care of yourself and have a good week!

Hello!

Good something to you!

Well, I've been searching the web and blogging information that might be interesting to some people but not to the core of my old readers, some have made me aware of this; and it's not like I am making money because I attrac more readers. But you know what the problem is? I'm addicted to numbers! I like seeing the counters climb up, in a spand of a couple of days I have seen the number of hits to my blog increase by more than 1K!

I know, you're probably saying that I've sold out, but I'll ask you this, how could I sold out when there's no money involved!?! No, I'm still the same. I still got MS, I still have my silly adventures and my everyday mishaps, no! I have not changed or sold out, I just like to see the number change...

Earth Day

Hello!

You thought I had forgotten about Earth Day did you?

No I didn't, I even went to visit the site of Earth Day so I could get new ideas on how to improve this Earth. A couple of years ago when I used to walk still, I pledge that I was going to change all my light bulbs from the normal ones we use to the new improve ones that save and consume less energy. Sadly though, I had to change back to them because the machine I use to control my environment such as lights does not work with those type of light bulbs. I know we do some stuff to save this planet, my wife doesn't use plastic bags when she goes shopping, I tried to keep lights off as much as possible, my wife tries to buy local food when she can, we do a whole bunch of mishmash so we can leave a better place to our sons and daughters.

Life: How do you get use to it?

Hello!

I was thinking today about the whole life and death thing, how can we get used to this thing called death? I mean whether is you that are dying or you someone close to you, how do you or your love ones come to terms with the absence of someone? And how is life is such a lottery that it will make you or break you as per your destiny, I mean I'm stuck in a wheelchair, someone is dying as I write, some people have lost loved ones and now must go on without them, others are happy and healthy, it's a whole mishmash of events that happen "randomly" to all of us and we get used to it.

Case in point, I have a cousin who was happily married to a young lady who was in its prime, they seem to be quite a couple. They were very active in the community, seem to be family oriented, they were doing okay. Then out of the blue the woman gets diagnosed with cancer, I thought she was going to make it, seem that everybody that I have met with this illness has conquered this disease. She's young, full of energy, shall make it. Well the lottery of life had her number, she passed away in her mid-30s. Today, my cousin has recuperated very well, it seems he is devoting his life to the benefits of mankind, he got used to it. But how? I really don't wish to find out how you can overcome such an event but I guess that sooner or later someone close to me or myself will have to go through the same thing. Let's hope that this happens hundreds of years down the line!

Have yourself a great weekend people!

Philippine landslide leaves at least 1 dead, 40 missing - The Globe and Mail

Hello!

Good something to you people!

Well I looked at the news this morning and here in Canada is a bit of a slow day so far, seriously, I like to compare the news between Mexico and Canada and this is the only time when Mexico rivals Canada because in Latin America we are a bunch of very Catholic's persons so this week is holy week for us. But mother nature doesn't stop, my heart goes out to the people of the Philippines that went through this terrible tragedy.

I also found other news that to me are interesting.

Looking at life

Hello!

Well it's bad news everywhere, my bath guy came today and he had a sad story to tell me, basically his relationship with the girl he was going out with is coming to an end. The guy actually cried when he was telling me his story, he refuses to call it a breakup, apparently the girl will be moving out of the apartment and getting another one for herself. He claims that they will still see each other but they are just going to live apart, well I know that with time and with space they are going to distance themselves from each other, slowly but surely. Good luck to him.

I discovered how to publish in StumbleUpon and people are really getting into it, I'm getting so many hits and I got about three like so far. No I haven't sold out, I just want a broader audience. As I said, I'll still write about my life but will include post regarding what I find interesting.

Questioning the results

Hello!

Good something to you!

What gives?! Yesterday my last post consisted of the crankiness of my dog towards the TV when she goes to sleep as well as the new sport called chess boxing and I got about 170 hits!! This puts off my statistics by a mile. I don't know if it's because there's a lot of fanatics of this sport or it's because my dog really attracts attention, either way thank you Mr. Roboto because I don't think it was a human hand that did this.

For a third day in a row we have a very crappy day today, slushy/training/cold and the girls don't have school, this is due to the fact that they have their five day weekend. It's holy Friday tomorrow and Monday is Easter, Thursday however I don't know why they gave it off. I think it's because the end of the school year is coming near and the teachers as well as the students are eager to have time off. Nothing major planned today, my doghter is going to the vet in the evening I'm going to see the results of American Idol, hopefully it won't be as bad as the ones of DWTS were they sent off a beautiful ex-model who knows how to dance, plus she's really gorgeous, and they kept someone who doesn't know how to dance. What were you thinking America?!?

Well, time to wait for my bath guy and see if I get as many hits as yesterday.

See you later folks!

A cranky dog

Hello!

I know some of you are surprised by my last post, well old Chuck here is throwing a curveball, I'm not stopping blogging about my life but I think that saying the same thing over and over again can make people tire. So now I will blog generally about anything that I see on the web and/or my life.

Did I tell you that my dog doesn't like it when I hear TV at night and she's already gone to sleep? Yup, she sleeps in the room of my oldest daughter just above my TV and when she goes off to sleep with my daughter and I'm hearing TV, I hear her crying; I put mute on my TV and the crying stops. Wow it took a dog to control my TV habits, usually I like to fall asleep with the TV on, now I can see the TV but cannot hear anything they're saying.

Today I fell asleep on my chair and when I was waking up I was seeing a report about chess boxing. No no, it's true some guy in Europe came up with the idea and it has caught on with the general public. I don't know if it has come to Canada yet but the US already has a contender for next year's chess boxing matches... Crazy people out there, crazy people...

Hump day posting

Hello!

Hope you're all having a fine day!

Well my dog is feeling better, yesterday she was all quiet so being in the cage wasn't so bad, she didn't cry a lot, but today she's feeling much better. How do I know this? Well dogs unlike babies have a tendency to be quieter when they are sick. Babies tend to cry a lot and this is how you know that the babie has something you must pay attention to. So I'm happy that my dog is feeling better, plus tomorrow she goes and sees the veterinary, so he should be able to ask all the questions they have been asking me.

A very crappy day today here in the region of Montréal, it's raining borderline freezing rain, somehow I got the feeling that my wife customer is going to cancel on her today, just a feeling. Got nothing major planned today, I have a couple of medical prescriptions I have to refill and one of them is a bit problematic because I have to get the doctor to call the pharmacy so they can talk to each other and get the medicine for my daughter.

OMG, I don't believe this, Olivia is starting to understand her name, she was crying for a second there and I told her to be quiet while I did my post. She's a fine dog I tell you, hope everything goes well at the veterinary tomorrow.

Well the dog is calling, I'll see you guys/girls later!

Take care!

Chuck the activists is here

Hello!

I told you it was going to be a very quick meeting, she came, she saw, she conquered, okay I signed. It was an idiotic thing that the other occupational therapists had forgotten to bring over for me to sign. Well at least that's done and I have nothing else planned during the week.

Okay, time to put the smiling face on, the kids and wife will be here soon. Yeah, I was somewhat melodramatic today in the afternoon because of my inability to help my dog. The old me would have taken things into his own hands, take the dog to a vet, give her some medicine, pat her for crying out loud and I couldn't do any of these things because of my stupid illness. But this afternoon there was a glimmer of hope, I got an e-mail from the MS society requesting that I send a message to my local politicians seeing that elections are coming to Canada on May the 2nd, I think, so it's the perfect time to rattle the cage, wake them up, let them know that I'm still here and I can still vote. But honestly, this is not going to help me, I feel isolated and useless not because of them but because of me.

Who knows, maybe one day I'll do something useful for society that's going to win me a noble prize or something like that...

Take care folks!

Life should be easier than this

Hello!

I got a meeting this afternoon with the CMR people, these are the people for the wheelchair, apparently they forgot to make me sign something and I have to sign it now. I take it it's going to be a very brief meeting, I'm hoping, after that I have to look into calling the place I bought the dog from, the poor fellow is not feeling good and her appointment is until Thursday late afternoon.

This is the reason why I hate dogs, domesticated animals, I don't like it when they're sick. It made me feel useless before now that I'm in a wheelchair I feel double useless. The only thing I can do is call someone on the phone to let them know what's going on and to wait for someone to come home. If it was just my legs and I still could move my upper body, I take it I would be able to do something but what I got is my whole body shutting down on me, my hands, my legs, my torso, my everything is slowly but surely slowing down and then one day I will just stop moving. I really really hate MS, my brain is active I can still talk but my body is not responding.

Take care!

Fixing the unfixables

Hello!

Good something to you!

Well my dog has an appointment with the vet for the first time on Thursday, this is a freebie from the store we bought the dog from. So my wife and my daughters will go with the dog and ask all sorts of questions I am preparing for them. Trust me, it seems that I am a vet because all the questions regarding the dog come to me: "should I let the dog eat grass daddy?", "Why does the dog eat poop?", "Why is the dog not eating?", "What should I ask the veterinary when I go and see him?"... why Why WHY WHY!!? Why am I the one  handling all these questions?!? First I was tech then I was a scientist and now this?! I'm a do-it all type of guy I guess! I wonder was gonna come next!?

That's for my dog...

Today in the morning I had the scare of my life, I rebooted my system because it was really slow and I wanted to start blogging before my bath guy came but the system wasn't coming up! So technical Chuck kicked into gear, I couldn't reboot it only because that didn't worked, so I rebooted and did a scan with the/F function then rebooted again, then I log into it in safe mode and defrag the hard disk. Then one final boot and the system came back up working properly. God I'm good!! This saved me at least 400 bucks for a new hard disk and additional memory, you can't never have too much memory. But I think my computer is hinting at retiring sooner or later...

See you later folks!

Broken legs, broken dreams

Hello!

Well... My legs were broken!

This is the reason why I haven't post in the afternoon, funny story.

I was in the kitchen and I started backing up in my chair to position myself near the patio door, suddenly the chair stop. What gives? The lights are on, the tilting mechanism is working, so what's going on? Okay, I decided to use my technical skills and make the chair work, what do I do when a computer doesn't work? Reboot the freaking thing! So, I did the equivalent. I turned off the chair and turned it back on again! No dice, in fact I had made it worse. The lights on my control were off and nothing I did was making the chair work. Thank God I have took the phone with me because otherwise I would have had to wait until my wife came home. So I called my wife and told her if she could come by and unlock the door because my little daughter was coming home and I couldn't move. Once I hanged up with her I called the CMR so that they could come and fix the wheelchair, they said somebody was gonna be coming over to fix the thing at around 3:30, the guy came an hour later and it's been 20 minutes that I have mobility again.

So thank you for your patience in waiting for a blog to move on.

Diabetes under control, where is that cake

Hello!

Well it's been a couple of days where my sugar levels have been control properly. I'm not crying victory yet, but changing my doses of insulin at an earlier hour than before seem to have done the trick. The type of insulin I take is the slow one so it takes time to work and I was taking it a little too late before, at 10 o'clock at night or in 11, now I take it at around 5 PM, so it seems be working better.

My bath guy came and we started to talk about dogs, he asked me what the name of my dog was and I told him it was Olivia. The guy laugh because he has a small dog and the name of the dog is Olive, it seems that I'm on the right way in educating Olivia. The guy used to use the caged technic at the beginning and now his dog is left alone outside of the cage and there is no problem. I say I got a couple more weeks before Olivia can roam freely around the house.

Any hoot, I wish you all the best and hope you have a nice day.

Cesar Williams the dog guy

Hello!

Yes, this is how my daughter referred to Cesar Milan  The Dog Whisperer. Funny thing is that she got a book from him teaching her the latest tricks and the do's and don'ts of how to have a relationship with your dog. This shows you the level of maturity towards animals my daughter has, yesterday we took the dog out for walk and within 10 minutes of the walk my daughter was already tired and wanted to come home already. She kept on asking how much longer did she had to walk the dog, I told her dog walk was usually about 40 minutes but for this breed they suggested minimum one-hour so that she could go to bed at night being tired. Well my daughter throughout the walk she kept on bitching about how cold it was and why the dog was taking so long to do her necessities. It seems I was training 2 animals, Olivia and my daughter.

At the end she was happy because the dog after walking for a very long time decided to poop, I guess this was her first poop outside with her because she was excited that the dog finally did something and now we could go home. Relax I said, we have to continue on and complete the walk. It seems she did mind anymore, at the end of the walk she was running and playing with the dog. This morning she got up extra early to take Olivia out and so far everything seems to be going fine, now if my bath guy can get here in time, it would be fabulous!

Take care people!

Dog day Sunday

Hello!

Good day to you all!

Today will be the first day when Olivia will be left "alone". She's still in training but she's learning fast so I don't think is going to be too hard on her and on the family. She has 2 comands learn so far, sit and stay, the stay one still needs some reinforcements but she's getting there. Today's plan is to keep her in the cage while she learns to restraint herself from peeing and craping at will, once she gets that mastered she will be left outside the cage. Today we will do her first vet's appointment, seems her breed suffers a lot from the ears, seeing that their ears are long and tend to keep moisture, later on in life she might need a hip replacement; this type of dog lives up to about 14 years. Any hoot later post I will talk about my Cesars Milans, there is 2 of them, and their adventures...

Take care folks!

My dog is a Brittany bread

Hello!

How are you today?

Well I know I've talked about her on my previous post mentioning her mishaps and how it is going with her so far but I have really never introduce you to her. On this post I am including a picture of the dog who stole my heart, I'm used to dogs, I grew up with them, I used to let them lick my face or wrestling them, letting them bite my hand stuff that a normal dog owner, a dog lover, would do. Now the idea of a dog was my oldest daughter and my wife, they are not exactly dog lovers, my daughter is really afraid of the dog and my wife seems to be tolerating it a bit better than the last one, she has even gone as far as getting it or picking up her messes. But she hasn't crossed that line yet, the line where you let the dog lick your face or hug her like a mad person.

Now that we have a dog a lot of things have changed, back when I was able to walk and do stuff the dogs never knew what a cage was but now that I can't help at all in cleaning mishaps or taking the dog out for walk, this dog will have to get used to certain things. First of all in the morning my daughters, walk her out so she can do her necessities, then she's going to feed her, wait 15 minutes and then take her out again, and just before my wife leaves to work, she's going to take her out one last time. When all of this is done the dog will be caged in so that she doesn't do anything while she's "alone" in the house. I'll be honest with you, this breaks my heart because the dog will be right next door to me and I won't be able to play with her, cuddle her, or even take her out for walk. Once again, MS sucks!

Happy trails people!

Olivia's first day at the house

Hello!

So what's the dog damage so far?? Well, not much really, the dog already knows the "sit" trick and the cage we bought? The dog seems to be used to it, she sleeps in it and likes to bring her toys inside of it. I think she was somewhat trained or she's really smart.

On a genealogy note, today I got a coment regarding the post I wrote regarding the search for my grandmother's registration paper, apparently my grandmother was the director of a school and she was well liked around town, very educated lady. So I asked them if they had more information from them.

Well see you mañana!

The family is now complete

Hello!

Well I'm back, had breakfast with my brothers and I didn't have to pay a single cent my brother pick the tab up.

Ladies and gentlemen, always obeyed the rules that are obvious in this world, never buy food or go to a restaurant on an empty stomach and never ever go to a pet store with a loaded credit card and a daughter who's birthday is about to happen. The first rule, you have to obey because today I went to the restaurant on an empty stomach and I ate like a pig, no, two pigs. Scrambled eggs, bacon, little round potato things, beans and a whole bunch of other shit I shouldn't have eaten because I'm pretty sure that my sugar level has gone through the roof. But it's okay, once in a blue moon won't harm me.

The other rule, we went to a pet store on the shopping mall and there were dogs on display, each one cuter than the other. My daughter started to play with them, my wife fell in love with one of them and then the lady, the cruel lady, started to take more dogs out and they were all so beautiful I could have take them all home! But there was a special one grabbing the attention of my daughters, my wife and I, not to mention half of the store's clients. So we said to ourselves "what the fuck!" We only live once, let's just put the credit card to the roof and buy that bitch. What?!! She's a female dog, a cocker spaniel or from the same family, cocker  something. So we got Olivia the dog, an iron cage, the food for the dog, a squishy toy, the leash and a collar for $825 dollars! What a bargain! Now my household is complete, we got a wife, daughter number 1, daughter number 2 and a disabled father! Kinda sad, when we were leaving the dog went inside my car because it was raining too much for her, guess where I went? That's right, I had to ride the we-wheels back home and I was all wet while Olivia that cocker spaniel bitch came home all dried. But she's so cute...

Take care yourself people!

From the desk of a proud grandfather...

Surprise Morning Breakfast

Hello!

Good weekend to you all!

Well today I'm about to start my day with a breakfast at the restaurant. Yeah, it's my little brother's birthday and we're gonna throw him a SBB, a Surprise Birthday Breakfast! So I'm eager to get going and ordering the mini omelette burgers platter, with some OJ and some idea of the restaurant's hash browns. Plus bacon, don't forget the bacon!! I'll have to hurry up, the weather people have issued a severe rain fall warning and it's not fun when you're in a wheelchair....

Catch you folks later!

Interesting afternoon

Hello!

I'm baaaack!

Well I went to the school of my daughter to hear what they had to tell me when to my surprise they told me that my daughter had a potential diagnostic from the psychiatrist of dysphasia. What?!! I was never told this before, I have been seeing the psychiatrist of my daughter and he had never advanced such a diagnostic! Then they told me that it was a probability only. It doesn't really matter, the school treats that also anyways, so overall I was happy with the meeting.

Getting to the meeting was a whole different story, my brother took me out and as we were going out there were these two beautiful ladies looking at the names on the apartments' doorbells. My brother and I exchanged looks as if to say "wow! What babes!" I was about to start speaking with him in Spanish so that the women wouldn't understand me but then they started speaking in Spanish among themselves plus, and this is a huge plus, one of them had the magazine from the Jehovah's Witness. Wow! Now they're trying to get the men to go to their church. Not gonna happen ladies! Not with me at least...

The bus picked me up and drove me to my daughters school, but since the address I gave didn't match the actual school address the bus driver was hesitant. He wouldn't let me out of the bus, even if I told him that there was going to be somebody was going to come and bring me into the building, he didn't want to leave me there. I told him that the director from the school had told me to wait outside for her and that she was going to bring me into the back where there was a ramp. He didn't want to freaking believe me! So finally my wife came and I told him that this was my wife and we had a meeting in the school with the director and the teacher, even when the director came out he was still hesitant and didn't want to leave me at the mercy of these dangerous woman! Thank God that the school of my daughter is just a step stone away, so at the end of the meeting I canceled my bus to come back and I drove myself back.

And this was my afternoon people, I hope you have a wonderful day and a glorious weekend!

Take care folks!

Take back the tap

Hello!

Well, as expected it was all a doom and gloom film, but it does let you wonder on what the future of your kids and my kids will be. I didn't know this seeing that I use water at will, I can open the tap and leave it running at will, while in Africa it is counted drop by drop, heck they even have days when the water is cut off because of rationing. Did you know that 97% of water on this planet is useless to us? Only 3% of it is good for human consumption. And we're messing up the water/earth cycle increasing soil erosion and very big companies are popping up privatizing water. Obviously the poor countries will suffer first but the rich ones will soon follow through.

It's scary, I'm in a place where I don't care where my water comes from or who suffers because I'm getting it free. But apparently my daughters and grandkids will eventually feel the pinch unless we change our ways of managing the water. I'm not going to play blaming games here, I'm as guilty as the next guy and I surely wish that we can get a hold of this problem because once it's gone, it's gone for good and we will all suffer from it. Once again if you want to be scared into properly managing water the name of the film is "Blue gold:world water wars". This film will change the way you think about water managing and about the big companies who are right now profiting from this. I think that water and air should remain what they are, free for anyone who requires it.

Well I am off to the meeting, hope you have a wonderful day and see you soon.

Take care people!

My daughter's intervention

Hello!

How are you doing?

Well I'm up early again, my wife had to leave early because we have an appointment at 1:30 PM at the school of my youngest daughter and therefore she must go early so she can complete her work on time. I still don't know what they are going to talk about at school, I know that they're going to propose something to make schooling better for my little daughter, but I've been to so many of these it's not even funny.

Hey, little J's family got a new car, they traded in their 1990 LeBaron for a 1990 Nissan 300ZX/300ZX Turbo, I wonder where the F is the baby chair for little J is going to fit. Well, as long as they don't put the LeBaron in their front yard like they did their old car.

After I finish posting this I will look at that movie about the water crisis and when I come back from my meeting I will let you guys know how bad it is, that is if I don't fall asleep while watching the film.

See you folks later.

Family matters, right?

Hello!

You know that blogging has been an experience to me?!? I mean you guys have helped me gone from the dark side I was in to the new me who is sitting pretty blogging every day. But it has been an experience throughout this whole time, first my family started to get into my blog, my cousin, my wife, my sister-in-laws and once in a while my oldest daughter. What I haven't told you is that thanks to them I have been trying stuff that I would have never done. They always tell me the same thing:

YouTube incident

- "... Yeah uncle, go in to YouTube and we promise we will follow you!"
- "... Daddy, you should do it I will follow you!"
- "... What are you waiting for cousin? Do it I will follow!"

So Dumbo here, decides to start YouTube videos even though he doesn't have commercial appeal. Ask me how's it going with that thing, go ahead, just ask me. I think the last time I saw my daughter there was when I pushed her to see one of my videos. But moron didn't learn here:

The Spanish blog dilemma

- "... If you had a blog in Spanish we would be all over that!"
- "... Cousin, you know how to write in Spanish! If you had a blog in the language of Cortes I would follow!"
- "... You could make money with this daddy!"

I guess I didn't learn the last line, so loser starts a Spanish blog and are they following me? Nope! These people shouldn't be trusted with anything. I mean I still blog in Spanish, not as often as in English, but I still blog. Oh well, I guess I won't trust them anymore, I can imagine when they tell me to jump off a bridge and to flap my arms so that I can fly because I can, I will probably do it.

Take care yourself people!

Why can't I be normal?

Hello!

Well I finished having my bath and my lunch, oh yeah, I also finished looking at the years 1899 and 1900 and my grandmother was nowhere to be found. This could be because she was never registered, it could also be that she wasn't born these years or or, she was a freaking alien from another planet that landed in my country and gave birth to my mother thus starting a whole line of super intelligent good looking people that now walk among you guys. I like this theory, I think I'm going to be telling it to my daughters from now on.

Regarding genealogy, I think I'm going to have to get an appointment with the eye doctor. Yesterday I posted that I had found books dating back to 1859 where I could probably find my great-grandfather, I checked today and there are not such books! The latest book goes back to 1883 and I know for a fact that my great-grandfather was born in 1871. Besides, for me it's really time consuming to start looking at all these books and I don't want to start fights among anyone in my family.

By the way, tomorrow I will be late for my second post seeing that I have an appointment at the school of my youngest daughter at 1:30 PM. They are going to propose to me an "intervention" plan regarding my daughter, funny ever since she changed school her grades have been going up up up. I'm using her as an example with my oldest daughter because this one has hit a stalemate period, she doesn't go up nor she doesn't go down, she's in the mediocre center.

That's my life right now!

Take care of yourself!

Chuck Guzman is here

Hello!

Hello, oh wait I said that already!

Well yes it's an early post today, my family left the Reading my youngest daughter had a doctors appointment today, so I'm all set for the day.

And what am I doing today? Well it's a crappy day so I'm going to be doing what I did yesterday, looking into old documents to see if I can find something related to my grandmother or any other relative of mine.

Yesterday I was seeing a movie about a water crisis that this world is going through, I'll be honest with you here in my neck of the woods we don't seem to be suffering from that. All I know is that it was very alarming, basically it was telling the story about how water companies are monopolizing what was once a free product. Not only that, apparently the world only has 3% of its water that is good for human consumption and we are running out of it because of our destructive nature. When we the deforest a country we are promoting soil erosion and this is no good, when we build dams we stop the natural flow of a river and this is no good, there's a whole bunch of shit we do that is no good. I'm sorry I can't explain more than that but just as I was getting into it my family came into the living room and I had to change the channel, forcefully, but I did recorded on my PVR and I will see it later so I should be able to tell you more about this crisis. I know the name of the movie was "Blue gold: world water wars", it is freaking scary because I will not go through this but my daughters will be in the middle of it all!

Okay folks, time to start digging!

Take care yourself!

My day today

Hello!

I know, you're probably waiting for me to write something interesting like the sex life of a butterfly but as I mentioned in my first post today was gonna be consecrated to the finding of my grandmother's registration on the books that I found. It wasn't a very successful day, I didn't find her and my hands are shot so I have stop looking for her and I will rest a bit so that I might be able to use my hands for eating.

The good news about this whole thing is that I found other books from different cities in my country dating back a bit farther than the ones I found. Meaning? With any luck I should be able to find my great-grandfather on my mother's side and perhaps even get the dates for my grandfather and her mom on my father's side. All of this is thanks to the Mormons who like me are into all of this genealogy stuff.

And this was my day people, I think tomorrow I will do one last effort to find my grandmother and I will send e-mails from my bed tonight different people who might know more about her.

I'm almost got her

Take care yourself!

I know she's there

Hello!

Well I've been hacking away at the book with no success, granted I'm not a very patient man but when you get so close to your goal you want to see results right away. Plus, and this is a big plus, these people back then used to write their lingo in a very sophisticated way. It's very hard to read, I don't know exactly what the name of the font is  but Lord they also most have speak their Spanish the same way they write it, very sophisticated, very hard to understand. In the book of my grandmother they have a funny way to say next year, instead of saying next year they say something like "future past" or in Spanish proximo pasado. Also, I have to take in consideration that when a kid was born back then it could take many months before being registered, not only did the hospitals didn't have any contact with City Hall, the women in general had to wait 40 days before he could take out her offspring, as an example my grand uncle was born in January but he was only registered until May. In the picture below it states that he was born on January 8th, yet the date when he was registered is May 22nd.

Needless to say that my hands are getting tired and I will take a well-deserved break before I keep on going.

Take care folks!

Looking at the past

Hello!

Hope you're having a nice day!

My bath is done and I'm about to start working on my family tree. I had a breakthrough yesterday I found the books of registration when my grandmother was born and I have to go through them to find her name. I already found my grand uncle, I sent a copy of his original birth certificate to my cousin and now I must tackle my grandmother. There is a couple of theories that I have come up with in my head because I haven't found her name so far, but these are just theories that will probably never be proven right or wrong, either way I will keep you posted on this.

It's kind of a crappy day today with rain and temperatures hovering around 6°C, nothing compared to yesterday when it was very beautiful and today I found out the temperature wise we had reached 20°C. So today will be a very good day for digging the past.

Take care yourself!

My led foot wife and her adventures

Hello!

Well I thought it was going to be a boring afternoon but just as my brother was about to start feeding me my wife  called with a depressed voice. Today was a day when she was going out of town to work at the house of a customer of hers that lives about an hour away from here. So my wife has to drive all the way there and she suffers from what many of you guys have, led foot syndrome, plus today is a beautiful day. A very dangerous combination, when the sun is out and you have to drive somewhere far usually push the pedal to the metal! Well, as luck would have it today the cops were doing their monthly financial campaign with radar traps and all the gizmos that they have out there for this event. So my wife got stopped by one cop who told her that she was doing 129 km an hour, she swears to me that this isn't true, she was only going 120 km an hour! Funny enough, the speed limit around this place is 100 km an hour!! So she got a speeding ticket of $125 +2 point demerits which means her license when she has to renew it will be more expensive... Poor her, she's saving to go to Las Vegas with the kids, if she keeps on getting speeding tickets, she's never gonna make it!

Heartbreak Motel

Hello!

Hey, my little brother's birthday is coming up on Saturday and to celebrate this event we are all heading to the restaurant for breakfast on Saturday. It's a surprise thing that I mention it on my blog because my little brother is a computer illiterate. No, not really, he does use the computer but he's somewhat of an e-antisocial/paranoiac person that thinks people can read his thoughts through the computer. Okay, he's more of a person to person type of person, you rather talk to someone live then to chat over the Internet with them.

I forgot to mention on my previous post, this morning before my bath guy came my oldest daughter, my wife and I hit the topic about what song we used to listen to when we got the dump. Although she didn't talk about herself directly, my wife commented on her older sister and how melodramatic she used to get when being ditched by a guy. Apparently she used to go into her room, close the door and blast her tape deck with the song November rain from guns and roses. So our fledgling immediately went to her teacher, YouTube, and looked for the song. She started laughing out loud because she claimed that the song wasn't meant for a breakup. I told my wife that her sister was just bipolar and didn't know a good song when being dumped. I didn't tell them, but when I used to get dumped, it never happened, or I used to dumped someone I would listen to "let's just kiss and say goodbye". Now there's a dump song!

Now I feel sad for dumping my third grade sweetheart, Carolina I will always love you!

Take care people!

My diabetic surprise

Hello!

How are we today?

This morning when I woke up my daughter started to take my sugar reading and I was expecting the usual 9.4-10 reading but to my surprise it had skyrocketed to 17.3. Why? I ask her to doublecheck to make sure and the reading was exact. Why is my sugar so high? Well after eliminating everything but the toothpaste, I remembered that my wife had purchased some cough lozenges for me and she had made sure that they weren't too high in sugar. Well she purchased these lozenges that apparently are all natural, they are called Ricola, so she thought that these were going to be good for me because they had no artificial sugar. We saw the package today and they are the honey lemon ones. Uhm... I think that honey is a no-no for us diabetic people baby. So I think my sugar level is high because I took a double dose of these yesterday night and hopefully it will settle back down by tonight.

After this incident I waited in bed for my bath guy to arrive and provide me with my daily services. Afterwards we started to talk about life and I discovered that the guy is really into cars. He has in 1994 Mustang which he takes care of it like a baby, this year he bought new mag wheels and tires (20 inch) and right now he's taking out all the rust patches before he takes it out for a spin. I jokingly said to him that it was probably going to be winter before he takes the car out finally. I don't think he appreciated the joke...

On with the day!

Take care people!

Sore buttocks and the air gun

Hello!

No I haven't lost interest in blogging, it's just that lately my health issues have taken a bit of a downward spiral. Hopefully it will all change with time and with my new air cushion! Yeah, old Chuck here is been getting bruises on his buttocks due to his lengthy stays in the wheelchair. Plus I hope that the doctor can also prescribe some dope pills to make my blog more interesting.

Well my oldest girl took a fit last time because her baby sister pointed an imaginary gun towards her. She told us that it was considered an insult at her school and kids had gotten reprisals for pointing an air gun among themselves. I told her that this was a silly rule that if she ever got into trouble for doing such a silly thing I would be there to back her up. No no I'm not a gun nuts, but an air gun?! I think this is pushing it too much, I grew up pointing air guns at people and doing silly things with my hands. So why had this changed? Basically I made fun of the whole incident and told her that so she doesn't get in trouble at school, she should throw air grenades without the explosion, or do the Hawaiian love sign and then mimic a gun. Should the teacher catch her  because of this she could always say that she was firing love amo towards her friend. Either way I will always have her back.

That's my third for the day!

Here's looking at you kids, sore butt and all!

Explaining why we're always missing time

Hello!

Time for Chuck's theories!

This one happened today while I was having a bath.

You know my theory about dark matter and how when you die you become dark matter or it may be dark energy. Well I was talking over with my bath guy today about how everything is going so fast that we don't even see it; and how when we were kids we felt that it took a long time for time to pass by. Well my new theory is developed on a scientific proven one, a couple years ago scientists wanted to know if the universe was collapsing or if it was still expanding. The results came back and it surprised everybody, not only was the universe still expanding but it was gathering speed. Meaning that the objects that were going away from us were doing this at a faster speed, needless to say that we as an object were moving faster away from the one behind us. W! T! F!

So my theory basically is if we are gathering speed as we expand, maybe this is the reason why time seems to be going faster than before. Maybe I should be on Ted or something telling my cockamamie theory about how time is going faster because the universe is expanding at a much faster rate than 40 years ago when I was just a kid. We go around the sun at the same speed and everything within our galaxy still the same to us but this is due to the fact that as a galaxy we are all traveling at the same speed therefore Einstein’s theory of relativity is true.

Where do I come up with these things?

Any hoot, take care people! You heard it here first!

Hearing the fine print

Hello!

Hope you are doing fine!

Really? Secondary effects might include dry throat that might be fatal?? I know I talked about it before but it never ceases to amaze me that we as humans have come to accept death as a "rare" side effect so that we can live more comfortable lifes.

These side effects are announced double pace speed on the US channels, after the commercial states the benefits of the drug, the voice of the announcer speeds up to tell you all the possible negative side effects that sometime may include death!! And we accept this Russia roulette game hoping that we are not part of that unlucky few that may suffer the negative side effects. But at least American get these warnings, here in Canada I have never seen the warnings on the commercials when they are airing

As an example, I once was taking a medication to lower my cholesterol and my urine was becoming dark, I had to do the research on the net to come to the conclusion it was a bad thing so I stopped taking the pill and talked to my doctor who told me I had done good.

Take care

The people have spoken

Hello!

Hope you are all okay!

This post is a plea to my American readers who have the power to tip the balance in our favor regarding the continuation of the show "Off the map".

You see my dear friends, I don't know if you have watch the series but it's one of those shows that have capture our attention, yes my family like the show too. We saw the ending of the first season and we were happy with it. So eager me searched the web to find out when next season start just to find out that there is a 50/50 chance the show will be cancel.

What?? I love the show! This is a latin American country I would love to visit where every person on the country speak both English and Spanish, where a jungle hospital can perform major operations, where a doctor can fall in love with a coca farmer and be ok with it, where so many things that go against comon sence can happen! And now I find out the show might be dead!!?? Let me dream a little longer please! So write to your elected official and tell them that ABC should bring back the show that brings hope to humanity in these times of darkness. (don't tell them I've sent you for they might get pissed off with foreing intervention in local matter)

Oh and by the way, tell them that they should also bring back "Better with you"!

Thank you!

Take care people!

My daughter's nameless friend

Hello!

I have a habit to wait for my daughters near the patio door when they are coming back from school to greet them and ask how was their day today was no exception.

My youngest came at 4:00 PM and dada was there waiting for her with a smile and the usual questions on how her day had been and if she had fun at school. She always answers with a smile and answers yes.

After that at 4:30 PM my oldest daughter is walking with another teenage girl by her side and I greet her and asked her how her day had been, it was a good day she said. I then followed by a question about the girl who was walking along side of her, I asked her if she was her friend. She answered yes, so the logical question follows: "What's her name?"

To this question my answered let out a yell: "I don't know daddy!!" what?? So she's not your friend I said. She tells me she is, that they hang around at school but that she had only heard her name once. Now she's too ashame to ask her name, the school year is almost over. I told her that maybe the girl didn't know her name, my daughter answered that she did. At the end my daughter is thinking of ways to get the girls name....good luck with that baby!

Man this is a story right out Seinfield!!!

Salutations humans!

The doctor cometh

Hello!

So the doctor came at 3:05 PM and the first thing he did is bring my doorbell. Now it's not the first time he comes here, he has come before and he knows that he has to enter through the patio door, so I'm hearing the doorbell ring as I opened my patio door and start waving frantically to him yelling doctor, doctor. After a couple of minutes he saw the frantic fat guy at the patio door and he realized that this was the way to go in. He apologized for having made me look like a nut, he walked into my house and took out his coat and took out his big file on me.

Well first things first, he told me the good news about my last urine sample the took, good news I have no infection. Then his looked changed it became more austere, kind of like the look of someone who's about to beat the living crap out of you, I know this look I have used it many times. He asked me what was going on with my diabetes, how come it wasn't controled. I explained to him that I was the one to blame seeing that I was over indulging in certain things that probably I shouldn't. I told him that I had a plan of action, but this plan had been device with the help of my old doctor friend who no longer practice because he has MS. He acknowledged my plan was good and gave me a month to change my sugar readings. The plan is simple really, I will take more insulin in the morning to carry me through the day and then increase a bit at night so that my sugar level in the morning should be okay. The one thing that changed is that instead of taking insulin at 9 PM I will have to take it at 5 PM so that I give it time to work. So I was off the hook on that one.

Then out of left-field he asked me how my arm was doing. My arm? Nothing is wrong with it I said. He looked at his notes and he told me that a while back I couldn't even lift up my left arm and that it was in constant pain. I told him that this was a while back and it was probably due to MS because now my left arm doesn't hurt and I had more mobility with.

He said he was going to talk to my nurse so that she can call me more often about my sugar.

Have a great weekend people!

Waiting for the doctor

Hello!

Well I jumped ship!

I called Allstate and told them the story about how I have gotten a better quote, they couldn't come even close to my last year prices of $115 a month, so eventually I dropped them but I told them that I had liked their service throughout the years so they told me they would call me back next March to offer me a quote.

Now I'm about to have lunch, my doctor hasn't arrived and my voice is losing its strength so voice recognition is becoming harder.

(30 minutes later)

Well tomorrow is supposed to be a very beautiful day according to my brother, 14°C and sunny. He suggested that I go and do something outside, well I am! Not exactly outdoor, but I'm going out. Tomorrow I already reserved my bus to go to the movies, I am going to go and see the movie called "Your highness". It seems to be a funny movie plus it's not 3-D a bonus for me because the movie is going to be really cheap for us, about $30 for 4 persons, I think my youngest daughter wanted to go and see it. So I will post my critic on the weekend.

I'll tell you about the doctor when he comes.

Take it easy people!

Extremely satisfied me

Hello!

How are we this fine day?

Well a couple of things are happening today with me, the first one is that after 25 years of being a loyal customer to my car insurance I'm finally switching. The other one is a follow-up to my post last night about my doctor calling me and asking me to see him this morning, let me tell you the stories.

So after 25 years with Allstate I am finally switching to another company for my car insurance and house insurance. Let me explain you a bit on who I am, I am a loyal guy that believes in service rather than price and I had been with Allstate since I'm 16 or 17, this because I trusted the insurance broker that was working on my case. This year my insurance went up by a lot so I decided to call my insurance broker, I swear if I would have talked to him I would probably still be with Allstate but he no longer worked there, I was extremely satisfied with him, why did he leave? The guy who answered the phone  couldn't tell me. So this changes everything, yesterday my wife handed me a pamphlet about another big insurance company and I decided to call them. What!?? How much!?? Whoa! They quoted me at thousand dollars less than the price I was paying at Allstate! I asked the young lady if she had quoted me right, apparently she had done the same insurance I had at Allstate but the catch was that had to change house insurance too. At 80 bucks a month I will definitely change house and car insurance! But so that you know what the price difference is at Allstate I was going to be paying a monthly fee of $163 because my wife had claimed a car accident and my house insurance is about $38 a month. Now with the other company, Bel Air direct, they quoted me the car insurance at 50 odd dollars and the house insurance would be about $33. What a loser! If I would have changed this years ago I would have saved a ton of money!

The other thing. Out of the blue yesterday my doctor called me up and said that he had talked to my nurse and after seeing my urine exams he would like to come and talk to me. Sure I said... What's this going to be about I asked. He told me that he wanted to talk to me about my health. This is no good I thought to myself, we usually run after doctors here in Québec, this one wants to come and see me. I'll bet he's going to tell me what a fat loser I am that doesn't take care of himself. Oh well, you can't please everybody.

Wells here's to a busy morning!

Take care yourself people!

Doctor's visit

Hello!

I'm live from my Itouch! Seems the only place I can blog to you seeing that my voice is not working properly and voice recognition is hard to use.

Well my diabetic control probably raised the eyebrows of my doctor because today I got a call from him telling me he will be over to see me tomorrow to talk about my health in general uh oh! This is not good, in general it is the public who goes and sees the doctor not the other way around! What if there's something else?? Shit! I have to work on a last will, I have to get in touch with the funeral dude, I need to speak with a priest or something....or maybe he will just increase my medicine...we'll see what the visit is all about!

Take care people!

Unforseen event

My voice is gone, can't do speech recognition......see you mañana folks.

sorry

I thought this was going to be easy

Hello!

Well everybody has an opinion about the funeral thing.

My bath giver came and we started talking about it, he said that that was probably a bit too steep of a price to pay for cremation that he was going to get me a number of a co-op that people with limited financial resources go there to plan their final Adios. Okay, I'll bargain shop my funeral! Then my brother came by and asked me how it had gone yesterday, I told him the story, the prices and what was going to happen. It's a scam! He yelled. You are going to be paying every month for seven years and when you die your wife and kids are going to go and claim a lot of land just to find out there isn't such a place, they are going to find out that you were had, better them than me I say to that! Why don't you save your monthly 30 bucks in a shoebox and at the end of seven or eight years you will have enough to be cremated. Sounds like a plan!

It doesn't end there!

First of all my wife doesn't believe in cremation, she believes that if you're incinerated your soul will wander around, so cremation is off the list for her. Then today I get a message from my sister-in-law, donate your body to science! Huh? Yes, give it to science so that they can advance the MS cause. Okay, I never thought of that, I wouldn't like people laughing at my body once I'm dead: "look at the fat Guy's weeney, it's shaped like an elephant trunk!" That's just great! I had to live with this deformity all of my life and now I still have to deal with it even when I'm dead?! I don't think so! If I'm going to go to hell I might as well start training for it by being incinerated. At this point I don't know anymore what I want, all I know is that it's going to be very difficult to call the guy back and tell him that there was a slight change of plans.

So much for making arrangements...

Take care people!

Now on with our lives people

Hello!

Good something to you!

Well is tough morning, I have lost my voice due to a cold. Voice recognition seems to be okay so far bad I have to force my self so that the microphone can pick up something.

Yesterday when my wife came home I talked to her about my final plans on how I was going to go and start paying the funeral off. She wasn't too thrilled about me talking about it and when I told her that I wanted to be cremated and place in a lot I was going to purchase she asked why. I told her because I had seen the place and I'd liked it, it was serene and it would be a nice place for my kids and grandkids to go and visit me and have a picnic at the same time. She didn't like the idea of me being buried somewhere, she asked me why she couldn't keep the remains at the house, that it would make her feel like if I was still there. After much deliberation I agreed that I was going to purchase the cremation package but I would hold on purchasing the lot.

Regarding this whole thing when I was speaking with the person yesterday my youngest daughter  walked in, once the gentleman left she came running down the stairs and immediately started looking at the pictures. She worriedly asked what was this about, she immediately had tears in her eyes and asked me if I was dying. I told her I wasn't that I was just preparing so that when I died everything would have been taking care of, the funeral arrangements, what I wanted, the cremation and my resting place. I said I wasn't going anywhere that I was just taking care of things they would have to take care when the moment arrives. She felt better but then before she left she added: "Promise me you're not going to die soon." I told her that I was planning to stick around to see my grandchildren and perhaps my great grandchildren.

Let's hope all this brouhaha is over and we can now move on with our lives...

Take care folks!

Contemplating immortality

Hello!

Well I tested Internet Explorer 9 and my verdict? s'allright, nothing to jump about is the same thing as eight but much faster, I still like Chrome better even though their certain programs you cannot open with it. Ah shit, the Mexican TV! I forgot about that, I have to check if it's still working, hold on a sec... Fuck me! Still working but the speed of video feed is slower than before. Maybe it's my speech recognition software running at the same time, I'll try it later.... I was going to wait until after the meeting but I couldn't handle my wife inside my head telling me how useless I was for having upgraded the system without consulting her... Are you kidding me?! I'm the one who wears the pants around this house, so if she doesn't like it, there's the door... No she doesn't have to leave, she just has to take me out.

A car salesman! That's what the guy looked like and acted, I was going to cut short his visit but then he started to make sense and I started to ask questions, this was a sign of interest on my behalf. Cremation is a very affordable thing for me and I think, don't laugh, that I will be going into business with the guy. The cremation price would be just under $3500 and the lot where I want to be buried would be about $2000. Now for the heck of it I also asked for the price of a normal burial, my wife doesn't like the idea of being burnt, the price for that is about $11,000 and this doesn't include the lot. Mind you this price doesn't include the chapel, these prices were the lowest one I could get. The lot is meant for six persons, so I got ample room for my wife and kids and I will have two places left. If you like to be buried with me it's only $5000. Kidding, I will probably buried my dogs and cats with me...
