Prom night
Hello!
Well it seems it was a day of remembering the past.
Today while watching TV with my daughters they were passing a documentary regarding high school graduations and prom nights. My oldest daughter asked me if I had a prom might, I told her yes that I had a good prom night! I wasn't a popular kid nor was I part of the "in" crowd, I hang with everyone. I was more of a happy-go-lucky type of guy, I really didn't care and nobody really bother me. So at my prom I was friends with everybody, including the parking guy at the valet parking, oh yeah I went all the way. You see where a lot of my friends were renting limos that they had to return before certain hours or borrowing cars, I was driving a white Cadillac Deville that belonged to me, technically. The car belonged to my mother's boyfriend but he had made it aware to everybody he knew that once he would passed away I was the beneficiary to his will. Now don't you go look at me like that, the only good thing the guy had was his Cadillac. He was really into cars and treated his baby like there's no tomorrow. So for prom night I had a white Cadillac Deville, humongous boat with an electronic trunk; you didn't have to slam the trunk, you just pushed it down and it would automatically closed itself.
No, I didn't have a hot date nor was I named the prom King. Here in Canada, or at least at my high school, we didn't have that, were a socialist country-everybody is the "same". I did have a date, I went with my best friend at the time and we brought 2 Asian girls with us, mind you once we hit the hotel they went their own separate ways because I don't remember them being at my table. Another thing that I had on my side that night was that I had gotten cash left and right, I believe that I got as gifts, for that night alone, about $1200 dollars to spend as I wished... So whenever there was talk about having a champagne bottle brought over to our table, money was no object. So my prom night was one to remember... Specially since I didn't go to sleep until late next day because my mother had organized a trip to a national park that had a beautiful lake... Long Sault was the name of the park and we had crappy weather that day but I didn't care, I have had the best time of my life the previous night, one that I'll remember for ever...
Take care folks!
