Alambrado or something like that

Hello!

Good Easter Sunday people…

Waiting for the rest of the clan to have a Mexican dish called alambrado or alambre or some cockamamie name, the point is that it is Mexican and it can be eaten. If memory serves me, they cook the meat with cheese on top, bell peppers and I dunno what else and then they serve that dish, piping hot, in the middle of the table where you’re supposed to grab the meat with a flour tortilla; last time we had a fiesta like that I probably hate like 12 tacos….it was good..let’s hope I can clear 3 tacos today as I have gotten older and my kids have grown up, they will probably devour +5 tacos; oh, let’s not forget electromagnetic guru guy who, although skinny, can probably eat his weight when it’s required… and today pigging out is…. De rigeur……

Hasta luego folks….

About this God...

Hello!

Good day…..

People, never eva, ever never, no way in hell tell the Mormons on what you believe God is… they will eat you alive in a bad way…and I believe that Jehovah and other religions are the same…sooo xnay on the God thing…let’s just say that they consider me a heretic now and will come next Thursday to speak with me on the subject of God/Jesus and the whole existence of them in a human form…we agree to disagree on that one…Plus I’m going to see them again because I get someone to talk to, it brightens my afternoons until my wife and kids get back from their duties…. They have a message but I talk a lot, so they can never deliver it...

you have to entertain yourself no matter how…yes, when you get to hell ask for me, I will gladly show you around…

Take care folks….

PS tomorrow is Mexican dish day.. I forgot what is called, so I will keep you posted…

Life and its misteries

Hello!

Good day all…

So, had a meeting yesterday with the psychiatrist for my oldest daughter (I remember a time when the option of being depressed didn’t exist…a slap would have taken care of that…) and basically we have to attend some more meetings.. ay vey.. the only thing good that came out of that is that we had scones and boy can that kid (my daughter) cook…it was awesome! I will have her make another batch since the one of yesterday is finished already…

Besides that, nothing mayor happening except I’m still alive; I’m still wondering about life and its intricacies… A day to day thing, keep my mind busy with anything I can… Tomorrow, for example, I will greet a couple of Mormon chicks; one from Guatemala and the other from France… ah yes, France! That country I wish I could erase from my memory, but will always be present as a quiet side of me…

That’s my story for you guys today…

The kettle, the food & the flick

Hello!

Good Monday all…

So weekend was fun?... I had a blast doing the family thing…

The Shopping

So my bus picked us up at around 10:10 in the morning, we had a direct ride to the shopping mall; we were there at around 10:25AM. So we went shopping for stuff, any stuff that we could think of. My youngest got a coloring book and a headset to listen to her music… she goes through them like they were socks… I think she has broken 3 so far this year, let see how long this one last her… My oldest was too cool for whatever the store had and she didn't buy anything. Me?... I got my kettle and some other kitchen utensils; my eyes glow with the sight of kitchenware; needless to say that I already saw what I’m going to get next visit… An iron cast pan….come to papa baby…

The Buffet

We ate like pigs!! I had 2 plates of different foods and a desert plate; I also had a beer…haven’t touch alcohol in a while… And yet, the people sitting near us got up to serve themselves 4 plates of food!! I was embarrassed, they were half my size!! I think that eating at a buffet joint is an art where talent is a must and you either have it or you don’t… I think my wife does, because she got to 3 plates…

The Movie

I liked it, but then again, I’m from the generation that use to wake up early on the weekends, have cereal or other breakfast food and turn on the TV to watch the shows… and The Bugs bunny and Tweety show was a must….So the Croods was fun, even if I came out yelling that the movie sucked because the guy died at the end, but that was to throw the next batch of persons going in to see the flick off….Despicable me indeed...

Take care folks...

Sunday's best

Hello!

Good Sunday folks…

On my way to see The Croods with my kids, they’re going on the bus with me but their mother will join us for the movie later on; she’s working, so no buffet for her…. As if, she would kill someone if she wasn’t there for the food portion of the day, she will join us at the restaurant. The show starts at 1:00PM but the transportation will pick me up at 9:55AM because we have the shopping and the restaurant to before, so I ain’t bitching; going to enjoy my day…. So let my sun day begin…

I hope that your Sunday is a pleasant one…

Weekend #12

Hello!

Well it’s going to be another movie weekend  for us… yay…

I was seeing a movie critic this morning and he kinda pushed me to go and see “The Croods” this weekend… he gave it 4 stars people, who am I to tempt destiny?!... so this weekend we'll be going to our favorite restaurant, followed by a bit of shopping at our bargain store (to kill time while the movie starts) and terminating by the viewing of the film…it’s going to be cool…Plus we will be having a +2c weekend so the outing has to be done…

And summer is coming at great speed, the birds, the bees, the flowers, the Target store….oh yeah… The king is dead long live the king… You see there was once a chain of stores called Zellers (I loved this place, it’s where we got our stuff for our first apartment), with time business went down and just last year it was bought by Target…. And they decided to open a couple of stores in the province and one of them is right here; at a strolling distance for me…. Now you bet your sweet ass that I will be shopping there as soon as the place opens in April…..I love this season when I can go out…

Take care people…

Oh crap!

Hello!

Good day folks…

I was going to be in silent mode again today but I was startle by the advice that Charles Bolden gave trough law makers to New-Yorkers in case an asteroid was going NY's way: Pray. Ha! It really shows how insignificant we are when it comes to The Universe and its whims.

When you think about it there isn’t much we can really do, unless we spend gazillions of dollars on technology that could save our planet; and then again what for?! Theirs is so much negativity around the world that it is probably the best thing that could happen to us: a reset button. The human race has a very persistent way of staying afloat; we’re like the rag weed in a perfect garden. I mean the chances of us existing are a quintillion to one, we are a “how did they get there?!” specie, an error that the gods one day will correct. Probably the same gods that we will be praying to for our salvation….

Take care folks…

Ending of a stormy day

Hello!

I wasn’t going to let you guessing on how my hectic day ended, no! Let’s say that everything fell back into place: Kids went to school, my wife has to get a root canal…ouch $1000, that hurts…okay, $200 she still my wife and therefore she’s insured… And I got my catheter changed, so I feel better… Obviously, we have to tackle tomorrow and things my implode into a nuclear type of day…

stupid sister-in-law, she came to help me out of bed and she sat me all crooked on the wheelchair, now I have to write for a bit and pause a sec so I can push myself straight…. I’m going to tilt and see if I can pull myself into a straighter position…I’ll see you tomorrow…

Take care folks

24H

Hello!

Ask me how my day is going so far, go ahead ask me how wonderful my life is at 8:59AM this morning….Well IT FREAKING SUCKS!..

Not only is there a snowstorm out there, but it appears that the school commission of my kids is manned by super heroes that consider this type of weather a minor inconvenience. Then we have my other half that is K.O by a tooth pain, I had to make an emergency appointment with her dentist who’s office was flooded and he is working at a remote location where he agree to see her minding an emergency fee of $75 bucks…Ooooh but it gets better, at 7:48AM I asked that an irrigation be performed (passing water trough the catheter to clean the orifice) to see if the catheter was blocked; I felt an a weird sensation with my whole bladder, wiwi thing… and guess what?! It is freaking blocked! Right now I am waiting for a nurse to come by in this snowstorm to change te thing…and that is life for you, shit happens when you least expected…bad shit..

Take care folks

And who are you anyways?

Hello!

Well, as always, very quiet afternoon. Not much happening, I think I will be glad that the snowstorm is going to be hitting us because it will be my excuse to be home with a reason…..now I know I came here because I was inspired and I said to myself “Go and blog, you’re inspired…” and then the phone rang and I forgot what I was going to share with you guys… I know it must have been important, just can’t remember what I was going to say… I think I’ll be taking some Omega 3 because I’m forgetting a shit load of things lately… wouldn't it be funny that I get diagnosed with Alzheimer and I forget about MS and that I cannot walk and start walking? Cool….

Later strangers

PS I feel that i have already written the above....Omega 3...

Mother Nature's practical joke

Hello

Good Monday people…

A glorious beginning of the week that will last….aaaabout 14 hours only…

You see, two cold fronts are ganging up on us as of midnight tonight and they will be bringing an expected 30cm of white powder, a.k.a snow…. It’s the St-Patrick’s snowstorm, the one that we’re supposed to get around this time of year.. And I had to back paddle several things in my life, the usual stuff: medical exams, school meetings, running around naked in my wheelchair… For example, this Friday I had to go and meet the teachers of my youngest to determine the high-school she will be attending next school year. Well since the transport is quite picky about picking me up if there’s snow that has not been cleared on the sidewalks, I will probably have to call in to that meeting…. And I used to hate conference calls when working, is just like karma to kick me in the nuts when I’m down….I also had to delay some meetings of the medical nature until April and I take it I will now be cocooned another 3 extra weeks; stupid gopher’s predictions!.... any hoot, hope your weekend was a faboulus one…

Take care folks…

Welcome to my world

Hello!

Another weekend is upon us, make it count…

So I have no major plans for this weekend, maybe rent a flick or something; I know that the Mormons are coming over tomorrow; for what? Only God knows…???... He does, doesn’t he? But enough chit chatting about a teenage angst…

So get this, before yesterday my youngest is watching TV with us as a family should (little shit never does this, strange)… While a commercial, she starts talking to me (2 in a row, wow) and she tells me that her laptop is broken… okay, software issue bring it to me let me see… as she’s walking to get the the thing she tells me that she was playing a game and then decided to turn the computer off and when she returned, the computer was dead… aaah, configuration issue, probably a virus tops… so off she went to get her system and as she puts it on my table where I noticed some physical damage, I thought it was normal wear and tear after all it’s been 2 years. I flipped the cover open and turned it on aaaand: the screen had been crushed!.... She stood by her story that she was playing a game and then turned it off, after that, the system was not working… I explained to her that it was logically impossible that the game could have done this, that the only way this could have happened was if the computer tried to suicide and jump off her table… but she didn't budge, so the screen must now be replaced…kids!... and they tell me I will look back at these moments and laugh about them….yeah right I say to that….

Take care folks…

PS And a happy weekend to you all....

Habemus Fraudens

Hello!

Happy happy folks…

So I saw the papal election yesterday and was somewhat impressed by it. A foreign pope elected, nice real nice; a Latin American cardinal, yay for the Latin American crowd, happy to hear that.. An Argentinian priest is at the helm of 1.2 billion Catholics…. Whoa, wait a sec!.. Right now it is all brotherly love and everything, but have you people really thought of the implications this event has? The freaking Argentinian don’t only have some of the best soccer players out there, Messi, Maradona, but now have a Pope who has a direct line to the almighty; these guys are going to win next Mundial; we are f@cked!!

This is not fair, they should have elected Mgr Ouellete from Quebec… we got no hopes or aspirations in soccer! Worst case scenario, Quebec city would have probably gotten their hockey team back.  I think that choosing a Pope from a soccer power house is totally unfair as it links that country’s team directly to God….

Take care folks…

PS For the atheist brothers out there….it’s like an extra good luck charm that the Argentinians now have…. It stinks….

Murphy's Law

Hello!

Good day to you all…

Well, my day is done. I just have to keep busy for the rest of the day doing who knows what…My regular bath personnel are in vacation this week and all is quiet so the papal election are, I guess, the highlight of my day… com’on white smoke!...oooh Judge Judy, be right back…

So here I am enjoying this fine show when out of the freaking bleu the phone starts ringing off the hook! WT freaking F!! Usually it is slow around here; highlights of my days are probably my bath and lunch… and that’s it. But I guess is a Murphy law type of thing when I say I am going to see a TV show and everyone and their mother call… At this point all I can say is that my girls have an appointment on Friday, something about laser hair removal… don’t laugh, at least they have hair… next week my wife and me have to get together at my youngest’s school to find out what high school they are recommending for my kid and the following week I have to go half a day to see a Psychologist for my oldest daughter; this going to be FUN… and I lost track on what the judge was saying….*pout* I should have paused the program but I turned it off… There is always mañana….

Take care folks…

A life well wasted

Hello!

Good day folks…

Well it’s a wet and warm day for us here, got nothing major plan today except TV, Internet and maybe start the second chapter in The Mormon book…. I think I will be going to their church this coming weekend… I hopr that my daughter also gets kids that will have religious crisis when they grow up…brrr…

So yesterday we saw the end of The Bachelor and my girls were all exited on the choice the guy made, Catherine. I couldn’t care less if he decided to change camp and ended up with Dave the cameraman… I think reality TV is a mixture of acting and reality… That’s why I love Cops, especially when the suspect gets tased and goes all catatonic in front of the camera; I believe that’s not acted like the Bachelor type of show, it’s all fake….plus I was going for the other girl not Catherine; she’s messy according to her sisters…

Anyways, bak to where I crawled under…

The rhymes

Hello!

Well I had to close the “Jack” loop with you guys. I did more research and found a site where you get explanation of the origins of Nursery Rhymes. For example, I found out that the origins of Jack & Jill was kingLouis XVI and Marie Antoinette; the decapitated guys… The Rhyme was about their beheading, It seems that their story was adapted for a “G” type of audience so that children could hear them out… aaaah those French folks were always thinking ahead of their time… any hoot just wanted to close the loop here so that tomorrow I can tackle the Spanish nursery rhyme… just kidding, I’ll see what else I can come up with tomorrow…

Take care folks…

Jumping Jack flash

Hello!

Believe or not, I did spend some times studying the whole “Jack” thing and it was interesting…. What I learned, namely, was that I had forgotten about the “Jack jumped over a candle stick”… What a character! Apparently it was from old English tales and the name “Jack” is a diminutive of Jacob. Well I still have to look more in to this issue as it has not satisfied my curiosity on where the stories came from; how they came to be…. Obviously, I found Jack shit of what I set out to look for…”Jack shit”, get it? Another “Jack” story about a guy who knew nothing, as opposed to his brother: “Jack of all trades”….aaaand I better stop while I’m ahead, I’ll keep digging and maybe come up with something useful for humanity…. I did find out why a cup of Joe and Starbuck came to be into our vocabulary….

Take care folks…

Theorizing the story..

Hello!

Good day to you all…

Had a super weekend, Saturday was an outing with my girls and yesterday we went to pig out –cause there’s no other word for what was done- and see a movie; Jack the giant slayer…good movie, but…

It got me thinking, is this the same Jack from “Jack and Jill”? You know the story of “up the hill and stupid Jill forgot the pill and now they have a son”?.. Makes you wonder how an innocent children story could be the tip of an iceberg, that if you dig real deep you will find the truth about the origin of the story…this being said, and in the immortal words of my favourite TV character “Challenge accepted!”… I C Guzman will now search high and low to find out the origins of this “Jack” character, who not only defeated giants –probably a bullying case- but who was also bamboozle into having a kid by some shady woman   who had a questionable past –probably a tramp-….Says the man who believes that part of his family came from the wrong side of the tracks….

Any hoot, weekend was great…

Ridding around

Hello!

Went out, shop for my stuff and… spring has sprung!...  nice weather, smell of poo and brown & white volcanoes adorn the parking lots of the shopping malls.  They’re big too, I took a pic of me in front of one of them, I’m sure that thing is going to be there for a while… and March 10 we advance 1 hour, so 1 hour less of sleep and sundown will be happening till 7 or 8 now… Summer!...

Have a nice weekend…

Things are going to change

Hello!

Good day to you all…

A spectacular weekend is coming our way, there is even rumors of +double digits temperatures heading our way; but this is Canada, so we will take this with a grain of salt… after all we still have to get the St-Patty’s day snow storm….here’s crossing my fingers for that not to happen…. Hey!... happy women’s day everyone, specially if you’re a women of the female type J….

So I was listening to the Mexican news this morning and I take it they don’t mind getting erroneous news all the time… today the anchor said that they had capture the son in law of the late Osama and that they didn't know if he was going to be extradited to the US for that countries justice system to pursued the matter… Got news fer you Mexican folks, he’s already in the US and will probably appear in court today…Get your act together TV Azteca, first the moon being 4500 years old and now this?!...I guess you’re just waiting for Easter to break the news about JC’s resurrection…

In other happy news today, I’m going out for a stroll!! Yay good weather! Snow has melted and I will take a happy tour around the block; and this weekend?...Chinese buffet and a movie! How awesome is life?....Can’t wait for the A/C to be installed and a couple of steaks to be BBQed…

Take care folks…

A Dear Abby morning

Hello!

Good Thursday people…

Well it seems I had to play “Dear Abby” with my bath person today…

You see, my bath guy didn’t come today and they sent me a girl that came and service me eons ago. Back then she was just starting out, she was young and had no kids; nowadays she is in a relationship with 2 kids and she is much older… and she must have picked up smoking because the stench is definitely there… Any hoot while she was giving me my bath, she made comments on how some people tackle well the getting old process, while some others could not assimilate it at all; and she cited herself as an example…oy vey, here we go again… So I console her in her times of need, “..there there, life is grand”, I said  to her…. I told her that she  had gain experience even though she had lost some of her earlier abilities that are often the gift of youth…"Youth is wasted on the young" I said to her, I told her that I had gone through the same but writing had helped me a lot… I told her and told her and basically became Anthony Robins… I wonder if I have “Psychologist” written on my forehead… maybe I should charge these people…

Take care folks…

Cooking with passion

Hello!

My creative side of the brain lit up and I invited Chef Ramsay for supper!

Yup, I went into where he keeps his recipes and borrowed one that will help me bring a pâté chinois dish to new heights. Now this dish is similar to the British shepherd’s pie with the exception that we use corn here in Quebec and it will be meat instead of lamb (cottage pie)…. Vive la difference…. So my wife is out toy shopping with my little one and I told her what we need for the dish tonight… Yum!... I can’t wait to see the results…Ramsay would be proud…

Take care folks…

Religion 101

Hello!

Good hump day people…

So, I had my meeting with the Mormons yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised that they were not as pushy as I thought they were going to be. I was surprised by the way they listen to my questions and were always answering them in a polite and quasi-accurate way. They said their message and then waited for us to drill them on it...over all, they were good listeners…except that I felt that sometimes they didn’t know what they were talking about; it could be their age as they were rather young… I also felt that they were more Keene in talking to my eldest than me. It’s like they want her in the group but they don’t really care if I go with them or not…little do they know that I am the puppet master here and whatever I say goes… just as long as it has been cleared with the proper authority (Comandante e ilustre Baronesa Chavez a.k.a wife)… I promised them that we would read their book and probably attend a service in the future and that we would give them a shout so that we could talk again… why couldn’t the Jehovas learn from them, instead they send supper hot chicks to invite us to some sort of ceremony….WE will not fall for that…(I would go but…)

Take care folks..

Is it me or is it her?!

Hello!

My beef for the day : Cellphones

The word describes what the instrument is, a beeping phone!! So why the F do teenagers use it mostly as a texting device? Whatever happened to “Hello”? It is ridiculous; use the keypad, dial the number and TALK! And you know that I bitch for a reason here, my oldest! She texts for everything, no calls, just beeping texts… and what is wrong with that? Nothing really, is just that since she doesn't uses her phone, there’s no need for her ringer to be on… fine, but she doesn't know that she is being called by her mother or father that live in that era where talking was cool!! I had to call her aunt so that her aunt could call her daughter and her daughter could tell my daughter to call me! When she comes back from her teenage shit-a-thon I am going to set her ringer to ring and vibrate, like that she doesn't misses a call from us and remains cools to her friends….I sure wish that that phone of hers had "electric shock" as an option ringtone…

Take care folks….

It's me again...

Hello!

Good Monday people…

Well it was a movie weekend for us! We rented Sky fall (007), Breaking Dawn the last part, I saw Star Trek last movie (when they were young and somebody lent me Unstoppable with Denzel Washington; all of the movies were an A+ in my book, but the one that left me with a “wow” taste in my mouth was the Denzel Washington's flick; it was gooood… a bit on the lame side because there was several instances when that stupid train could have been stopped…. I mean, really, letting the train run away at the docks?  Somebody could have run after it and stopped the dam thing… all in all, I was entertained for a while…

And tomorrow: The lost men meetings…. I got a couple of Mormons missionaries coming over to speak with me and my girls and I don’t know what we will talk about… all of this because of my oldest girl inquisitive mind on the whole God/church thing, will see what’s it all about….

Take care folks…

This coming week my kids have it off, no alarms to wake too, no morning rush…everything will slow down for 7 days… except on Tuesday when I have a meeting with the Mormons.. really… They are coming over for a meeting, I am doing this for my kid that is throwing existentialist questions and I want her to have all available resources to tackle the questions…anyways, this is my story todat…

Take care olks!

The Pope story

Hello!

Happy March people…

I would like to share with you (who do not know) part of the papal election. I decided to do this because my girls and my wife weren’t aware of this tidbit that I was made aware by my mother eons ago… She herself had learn it in biblical class when she was a kid and I take it it is true because my grandmother who had the chance to meet the pope wouldn't have tolerate a lie such as this..so here we go…

The Election

It is said that hundreds of years ago the Catholic folks elected a woman, by mistake, as the pope. I know, you are probably going “???” ,  imagine is like the KKK elected a colored person to lead the organization… not going to happen…  so the mistake was quickly corrected and erased from history, and to make sure that it (mistake) didn’t happen again they created the papal seat…It was design so that whomever had been nominated pope had the balls to prove it, literally!  Once it has been proven that the pope is physically a man, white smoke comes out the chimney…. Thus the reason why men smoke a cigarette after a lovemaking session…ok this part is not true but it is a good analogy of the whole papal election, I mean the guy has a his balls touch and then smokes comes out….I am on the midnight express to hell, am I?....

Take care folks…

PS makes you wonder why women can’t be popes, I mean in the begening the whole church thing used to be held in the kitchen area by women… go figure…
