The Castro connection

Hello!

It happened again! Yesterday night I had a dream with the youngest of the revolutionary brothers, Raul Castro. Now chill, don't go postal on me I haven't told you my first dream with the oldest one yet, Fidel.

My first dream was about 15 years ago, yes I have a very good memory. In that dream I was visiting Cuba after a night yo remember in the casinos and the copa cabana, it was time to come home but before I left Fidel Castro came over to say goodbye. We got talking and then he told me:

- "Here! This are the numbers that will make you win the lottery."

And I played the numbers and won. It was the most peaceful dream, all my debts had been dealt with and I had no more money problems. It goes with out saying that it has been 15 years I played those numbers and I have never won the jackpot. But yesterday the Castro connection may have taken place.

Last night Raul showed up and I was showing him the town. Then when it was time to go we parted at a dock and as he was waving goodbye he yelled these words to me:

- "Recuerdate de Cuba chico!"

I wolk up and inmediatly made the connection. It's time to play the lottery and win the Jackpot that Fidel promised me so many years ago.

So if you don't hear from me next week you kno why....or the feds picked me up for socializing with a comunist.

With my luck I will probably have to wait for the Che to show up before any money is won.

What do you think doctor, I am nuts?

Have a good day people!

Gigabyte me!

Hello!

How are today?

I had a good day because tomorrow I will be adding an extra Gigabyte of memory to my computer allowing me to run applications that to my taste are really slow....Skype. I will be using this app to comunicate with people in other countries.

This will also help me advance my family tree. How is that going you ask? Well, I found out that my grandmother's last name shouldn't be what it was but something else as my great grandparents seem not to be married and therefore she had to carry her mother's last name. Does it make a difference?? Not to me but to my mother if ever she finds out, she will be crushed. I will not be the one to tell her, okay maybe I will!

Have a great day...

November blues...

Hello!

Welcome to the 11th month of the year! We're almost in 2011 and according to the Mayan calendar the 21st of December 2012 will be our last day. I got to get me a T-shirt with the mention party hard 2012 it's here!

But on to my post this morning.

So as you know this weekend I had a brunch thing going with my family and everything went well. The restaurant I went to it's about a block away so I rolled my wheelchair to the place, had food and fun and then came back home. This is where I notice, again, that making my way on the wheelchair is not as easy as used to. First of all, I noticed changes that have to be made to my chair to reflect my current status but by the time these changes are made my status would have changed and the changes made will be outdated. One of the things I notice is that pushing the joystick to advance the chair has become a bit tough even if they have changed sensibility on it so I'll definitely have to go over it with the CMR.

But this is something I'm telling you on the side. What I really wanted to discuss was that, that Sunday I had time to read the MS Society monthly magazine and like always it brings me down a bit. This month edition was about how to keep on going by adapting your surroundings. They talked about people that are still working even if they are in a wheelchair or their company has allowed them to work from home. When I started to get sick my company allowed me to work from home for a while. Then they are the ones who pushed me into long-term disability insurance because my job description stated that I had to do support from the office. I am thankful to them because by putting me in disability they saved me economically, I heard it through my colleagues that there had been layoffs at the company and here I was safe and sound. But this is not the part that gets me down, the part that gets me down is that there are different types of MS out there but mine doesn't allowed me to be active as much as I would like to be. For example, the case stated in the magazine was a guy that still works even though he is in a wheelchair. Apparently MS fatigue, bladder problems, dexterity and other side effects of the illness haven't affected him. I basically live in a tilted position when sitting down on my wheelchair, also I cannot eat on my own for the simple fact that if I grab something I crush it in between my hands. A sandwich for example without notice I will grab it and basically destroyed it. It is true that by exercising little by little I am getting to the point where one day I will be able to eat that freaking sandwich but until then I'm stuck.

On another happy note, my wife brought it to my attention that my little daughter while at the restaurant she took a piece of paper, the ones were the plates are placed on, and she was drawing her usual sketchs. This time she drew me! She made me look better than I'm actually am. The drawing at the bottom it's hers.

Have a nice day people, have a nice month!
